I would absolutely recommend Auschwitz, but not through this tour company unless you’re willing to keep 48 hours of your life completely open without any other portion scheduled on your trip. honestly. We were told our tour would begin at 4:45am for a 5:15am train ride. I requested to be upgraded but they said it wasn’t possible – which isn’t true. The train ride should only be 2:20 minute but the tour group selected the cheapest train ride and it felt it – and was 3 hours instead. We were told (in writing) that we would go directly to Auschwitz and we could keep our overnight bag in the tour van due to restrictions in Auschwitz. Well – when we arrived at the train station, we were very squished with other riders in a van with someone who spoke very limited English. Everyone was very confused on what was going on as the other portion of the group was just dropped off in Krakow and stated that they would be back at 1:00 to pick them up (It was 8:00am). ok – very confused, but he didn’t speak English. then he dropped us off at our hotel (the other group did not select the sleepover package) and said he would also pick us up at 1:00. Why in the heck did we take a 5:15 train to go to a tour at 2:00? We couldn’t even check into our hotel! It was 8:00 in the morning! After that fiasco and being incredibly exhausted physically and mentally – we went to Auschwitz and it was amazing. Just do on your own though. We decided since we already went through Krakow that day before 8:00 – 1:00, we didn’t need to stay until 9:00pm the next day. I requested to change the train tickets and they wouldn’t. So i bought my own to come home earlier, on a nicer train, in 1st class, and was back at a decent hour. This tour place doesn’t care to communicate very well with you and doesn’t stick to what they confirmed. Do on your own. All 10 in my group were very upset with the entire tour the entire day of how crappy it was planned. I ended up spending $350 of our own money to get another train ride earlier and a nicer one with shorter drive times as well as an uber back home. I told this to the group and apparently they didn’t care as at midnight i received a call from the driver telling me he was trying to find us to take us home waking me up out of a dead sleep. Forego this excursion and do on your own. Read more

The entire experience was moving and poignantly memorable in a much needed way of learning the horrors of the past and to ensure history doesn’t repeat itself.

Sobering by amazing experience. Communications were on point and perfect. Trains and transportation were also pretty good. Be prepared for large crowds though we visited in April and tourist season had not started. Would recommend.
