The first stop on your tour is the Warsaw Ghetto, a harrowing testament to the horrors of the Holocaust. Established by the Nazi regime in 1940, the Warsaw Ghetto was a 3.4 square kilometer area that became home to over 400,000 Polish Jews, subjecting them to unimaginable suffering and deprivation. As you walk the streets of this former enclave, your guide will share the stories of the individuals and families who lived, resisted, and ultimately perished within its confines.
The tour then leads you to the Jewish Cemetery, a serene and sacred space that serves as a powerful memorial to the lives lost during the Holocaust. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on the immense human tragedy that unfolded in Warsaw, while also bearing witness to the enduring spirit of the Jewish community. Your guide will provide insights into the cultural and religious significance of the cemetery, as well as the stories of the individuals laid to rest within its grounds.
The final stop on your tour is the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, a world-renowned institution dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history and culture of Polish Jewry. As you explore the museum’s extensive exhibits, you’ll be transported through centuries of Jewish life in Poland, from the arrival of the first Jewish settlers in the 10th century to the impact of the Holocaust and the contemporary Jewish experience.
The POLIN Museum’s state-of-the-art exhibitions use cutting-edge technology, multimedia displays, and immersive storytelling to bring the past to life. You’ll delve into the vibrant communities, influential figures, and cultural traditions that shaped the Jewish experience in Poland, gaining a deeper understanding of the profound impact this community has had on the nation’s history.
Throughout the tour, your guide will provide a wealth of historical context, personal anecdotes, and thought-provoking insights, ensuring that your experience is both educational and emotionally resonant. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in discussions, and reflect on the profound lessons and legacies that emerge from this exploration of Warsaw’s Jewish heritage.

Our guide was wonderful. Eva had some great stories of her own, and really helped us understand the history. It was a cold walk, which we expected, but anyone who is doing this tour in the winter should definitely be ready for that. The only disappointment was that the POLIN Museum was closed, because it was Tuesday. Eva made up for it, but it seems that the company booking the tour should have made this clearer. We likely would have booked it on a different day, if we’d known. Overall, well worth the time and money to gain some real insight in to the Warsaw Ghetto and the Jewish Cemetery visit was very moving too.Read more
