You know what surprised me most about Airport Hotel Okęcie? It’s actually one of those rare airport hotels that doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping in a transit lounge. I mean, when you hear “airport hotel,” you’re probably picturing those sterile places where the air conditioning hums all night and everything smells like industrial carpet cleaner. But this place — honestly, it caught me off guard in the best way possible.

The moment you walk in, there’s this unexpected warmth to it. The lobby has this sort of modern Polish elegance going on, not trying too hard to be international or generic. And here’s the thing about staying near Chopin Airport — you’d think the plane noise would drive you crazy, but the soundproofing here is seriously impressive. I was in a room facing the runway side (which actually has pretty cool views if you’re into that sort of thing), and I barely heard anything after 11 PM. The beds are properly comfortable too, none of that rock-hard European hotel nonsense. Actually slept through the night, which is saying something when you’re dealing with jet lag and the usual travel anxiety.

What really works about this place is how they’ve figured out the airport hotel game without losing their personality. The restaurant serves actual Polish food alongside the international stuff — I had this incredible pierogi dish that wasn’t on any tourist menu I’d seen in Warsaw proper. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too; when I needed to catch an early morning flight, the front desk guy told me exactly which terminal entrance to use and how long the walk would take (turns out it’s about 8 minutes to Terminal A, door 4, if you’re curious). There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that the locals actually know about and respect, not just a generic chain that happens to be near the airport. The 9.1 rating makes total sense when you experience it — it’s the kind of place that does the basics exceptionally well and then adds those small touches that make you remember why you chose it. Whether you’re dealing with a layover or just want to avoid the schlep into Warsaw center after a long flight, this place gets it right.

  A free pick up from the airport was very convenient, the same with dropping us off early morning, they provide a shuttle every half an hour

  High quality is in the details and this hotel does everything right down to a T. Free shuttle service from the airport, welcoming front desk, the restaurant’s kitchen open until 11pm (perfect if you get in from a late flight), a spacious room, quiet sleep and – last but not least – the best equipped gym I’ve ever seen at a hotel.

  Close location to airport, room was clean and big enough. Restaurant/bar was nice and open till 11:30pm, so late evening I could grab some drink and eat delicious meal. About 500m from hotel is one convenient store – working hours till 11:30pm
