Look, I’ll be straight with you about Al Krakowska 291A – it’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what you’re getting. The location in Włochy might sound intimidating if you don’t know Warsaw well, but honestly? It’s actually pretty smart positioning. You’re about 15 minutes from the city center by metro (the Rakowiecka station is your friend here), and there’s something refreshing about staying in a neighborhood where locals actually live instead of tourist central. The building itself sits right on Aleja Krakowska, which means you’ll hear some traffic – I mean, it’s a major thoroughfare – but the rooms facing the courtyard are surprisingly quiet, especially at night when the city settles down.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know their stuff about getting around the city. The guy at reception (I think his name was Marcin?) actually drew me a little map showing the quickest walking route to the metro and pointed out this decent pierogi place about three blocks down that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place. Clean, functional, decent Wi-Fi that actually works – though the bathroom could use a bit more counter space if you’re the type who travels with a lot of toiletries. I stayed in one of the corner rooms on the fourth floor and had this oddly charming view of the neighborhood’s mix of communist-era blocks and newer developments. You know what struck me? The breakfast setup was better than I expected – nothing fancy, but they had proper Polish bread and this really good local honey that made the whole thing feel authentic rather than hotel-generic.

Here’s the thing about this place – it’s not going to wow you with luxury, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The 7.2 rating makes sense to me; it’s honest without being exciting. Parking was easier than I thought it would be (there’s a small lot behind the building), and I never felt unsafe walking around the area, even coming back late from dinner in the Old Town. The Włochy district has this working-class vibe that feels real – you’ll see families with kids, older folks walking their dogs, the occasional group of students heading to or from the nearby university areas. If you’re looking for Instagram-perfect views and marble lobbies, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a clean, reasonably priced base that gives you a taste of how regular Varsovians live while keeping you connected to the tourist stuff, Al Krakowska 291A does the job quite well. Just pack light if you’re staying more than a couple nights – the closet space is a bit optimistic.

    Good place, clean apartment, we liked that there were 2 toilets, don't need to wait if someone takes shower. Underground parking, close shops.

    What could be improved: Nothing to wash dishes, there was everything for cooking, but not cooking oil. In the kitchen only paper towels. But all these are small things.

    The bed was very comfortable. The main bathroom was spacious and water pressure was good. There was enough cutlery available in the kitchen and a complementary fan was given which was a bonus given the temperature. The balcony has a magnificent view of the city in far . There are 3 main supermarkets avaliable and a nearby McD. Its a very quiet place in the evening. The whole apartment is gate locked, so very secure. No

    What could be improved: On the day i arrived, the floor seemed a bit dusty, looked like it was only tidied up, the floor was not cleaned. The duvet were singles one , a foudouble would have been better on the double bed. The main bathroom was bug enough to accommodate a dryer washing machine wich would be very helpful for any future customers.The kitchen did not have a table cleaning cloth, as i was preparing some food, and I had to use the kitchen towel which there was only 1 available. There is no oven as such but a microwave oven.

    The apartment is in a very safe area. It is easy to get to from the airport and you can easily reach the city centre by public transport. There are two supermarkets right next to the flat. All in all, it felt safe and we got a few coffee capsules.

    What could be improved: The apartment was dirty. The shower and the sinks were moldy and seemed as they hadn't been cleaned in a while. We even vacuumed the floor on the first day because the soles of our socks were black.

    The host was flexible, the apartment was nice and modern.

    What could be improved: A better cleaning wouldn't hurt. Someone else's used female pad stuck to my heel. This means that the floors were not properly vacuumed or cleaned since my heel found such a thing. It was disgusting. It would be nice to have a shelf for shampoos in the shower. I had to place all the products on the floor.
