You know what? I honestly wasn’t expecting much when I first booked AON Apartament – I mean, the name’s pretty straightforward, right? But sometimes the places that don’t try too hard with fancy marketing end up being exactly what you need. This turned out to be one of those gems that makes you feel like you stumbled onto something good by accident.

The thing about AON is that it gets the basics so right that you sort of forget you’re staying somewhere that’s technically just a 3-star place. The apartments – and they really are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge – have this lived-in quality that actually works in their favor. Everything’s clean and functional, but it doesn’t feel sterile like those cookie-cutter hotel chains. The kitchens are honestly better equipped than some places I’ve rented for months, and there’s something really satisfying about being able to make your morning coffee exactly how you like it instead of dealing with those terrible lobby machines. I spent a good chunk of one evening just cooking dinner and watching people walk by from the window – sounds boring, but it was exactly the kind of low-key night I needed.

What really impressed me, though, was how the staff just… knew stuff. Not in an overly attentive way that makes you feel watched, but more like they genuinely wanted you to have a good time. The woman at reception (I think her name was Maria?) gave me directions to this little bakery that I never would have found on my own, and honestly, those pastries ended up being a highlight of the whole trip. The check-in was smooth – none of that awkward hovering while they explain seventeen different amenities you’ll never use. They handed over the keys, asked if I needed anything, and that was it. Perfect. The building itself is pretty quiet, even on weekends, though you’ll hear the occasional neighbor if you’re a really light sleeper. But honestly, it’s the kind of ambient city noise that I find oddly comforting – just enough life happening around you without feeling chaotic. That 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here a few nights and realized how many little things they’ve thought through without making a big deal about it.
