Hotel Description

You know what? I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Apart HoStel Helvetia B&B,” I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, and it sounds like they couldn’t decide if they wanted to be a hostel, hotel, or B&B. But actually staying there on Kopernika Street, I get it now. It’s sort of this hybrid thing that actually works really well, especially if you’re looking for something with a bit more character than your typical chain hotel. The building itself has that classic Warsaw feel – you’re right in Śródmieście, which honestly is exactly where you want to be if it’s your first time in the city.

The location is what really sold me on this place. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Palace of Culture (yeah, that massive Stalin-era tower you can’t miss), and the Old Town is totally walkable from here. What I loved though was how you’re close enough to everything but not right in the middle of the tourist chaos. Kopernika Street has this nice residential vibe during the day, though it can get a bit lively on weekend nights – nothing crazy, just the usual city sounds. The trams run pretty regularly nearby, which saved me a fortune on taxis, and there’s this little convenience store right around the corner that became my go-to for morning coffee and snacks.

The rooms themselves are clean and functional – definitely more on the apartment-style side, which explains the “apart” in the name. Mine had a little kitchenette area, which was clutch for heating up leftovers from all the pierogi I kept ordering. The WiFi actually works (you’d be surprised how often that’s not a given), and the beds are comfortable enough, though the pillows were a bit soft for my taste. Check-in was pretty smooth, though I’d recommend calling ahead if you’re arriving late – it’s not a huge operation with 24-hour front desk staff. The whole place has this slightly quirky, homey atmosphere that grows on you. Is it luxury? Definitely not. But for a 3-star spot with an 8.1 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises. Plus, the price point makes sense for what you get, especially considering you’re staying in the heart of Warsaw without paying Old Town premium prices.

Reviews

  • A nice “hostel” in the centre of Warsaw. – Janusz from Australia – July 14, 2024 (8/10)

The staff was very friendly and approachable. My room was nice and had a bathroom attached to it. Also the location is great.

What could be improved: I think that it is overpriced for what you actually get. It is not a proper hotel and the reception is open since 3pm.

  • Exceptional – Ucha from Georgia – June 10, 2025 (10/10)

frequency, all the amenities for in-room dining, location, balcony,

  • It was quiet and comfortable to stay in this place. I will definitely come back to it again! – Anna from Ukraine – June 30, 2024 (10/10)

The staff were friendly, the room was clean. I think for the price, everything was as expected and I had a wonderful break in between travelling. I would say it would be ideal if there were more towels, but overall I was happy with all aspects of my stay at this hotel.

  • Total experience would be 2 points. I would never want to visit this place again. – Mindaugas from Lithuania – February 10, 2025 (2/10)

This accommodation is suitable for travelers who need to stay close to the city center. This is a basic hostel worth no more than €30 per night. It is not worth paying €100 per night.

What could be improved: I disliked it from the start. While filtering through hotels in Warsaw for our trip, we were offered this place. We were traveling as a family of four, so we specified in our search that we needed a quadruple room, parking, and breakfast.
The booking was confirmed, but when we arrived at the specified location, we were informed that we would have to pay an additional €17 for the fourth bed, as this is a triple room. However, as I mentioned, the booking was confirmed for four people. I didn’t want to argue—we just wanted to get some rest after a long journey, especially since it was already midnight. There is also a charge for parking.
The description of this property mentions a 'very good breakfast' 🙂 But why lie about it? The breakfast selection consisted of dairy sausages, cheese, a plate of cucumbers, cereal and expired butter. I wouldn’t mind if this accommodation cost €50, but let me remind you—the price for bed and breakfast was €109.
As for the room, it feels like sleeping in a corridor—there's no soundproofing. The sink is broken, the bathroom door lock doesn’t work, the TV is out of order, and you have to wait about 10 minutes for the cold water to replace the hot.
I think it's likely that the good reviews of the hostel are simply fake (bought), so I would recommend Booking to check this establishment to make sure that it doesn't deceive visitors. I would advise hostels not to mislead visitors with false descriptions of great apartments that do not correspond to reality and are much worse than they really are. The breakfast is pathetic, with expired products. The rating is poor

What could be improved: La entrada al sitio

  • Na krótki pobyt bardzo dobry wybór. – Mm from Poland – August 15, 2024 (7/10)

lokalizacja, bardzo miła obsługa, wygodne łóżka, duży plus za część wspólną gdzie można zrobić kawę i herbatę,

What could be improved: Nie ma parkingu od hotelu (tylko jedno miejsce garażowe).

  • Nice staying – Barbara from Italy – June 15, 2024 (9/10)

Ambiente giovanile e accogliente. Camere spaziose e pulite. Buona posizione. Bagno privato nel monolocale.

Hanna from Belarus – June 11, 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Это скорее проблема месторасположения и сезона – мошки, которые лезли в окно.
    Слышимость…
Отсутствие лифта – если тяжёлый чемодан, как в моем случае, то это сложно.

  • Gorąco polecam , świetne miejsce 🙂 – Kordas-kaczmarek from Poland – May 20, 2024 (8/10)

    Świetna lokalizacja
    Całodobowa recepcja
    Fantastyczna i przemiła obsługa

What could be improved: Wszystko było super

  • Good – Clemens from Germany – March 29, 2025 (7/10)

("Coffedesk"!) Lage sehr gut. Kostenfreies upgrade in größeres Zimmer.
