You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of Warsaw apartments over the years, but this place on Nowy Świat really surprised me. The name “Apartament luster i obrazów” basically means “apartment of chandeliers and paintings” – and honestly, they’re not kidding around. Walking up to the second floor (there’s no elevator, just so you know), you immediately get why this spot has such a high rating. The whole building has that classic Warsaw elegance that somehow survived everything this city’s been through. When you step inside apartment 6, it’s like someone’s sophisticated aunt decided to rent out her place but kept all the good stuff – crystal fixtures that actually work, artwork that isn’t just random hotel prints, and furniture that feels substantial rather than that flat-pack nonsense you usually get.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Warsaw rather than just visiting it. Nowy Świat is one of those streets where locals actually hang out, not just tourists taking selfies. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from some of the best coffee shops in Śródmieście, and the whole Royal Route is right there when you want to do the sightseeing thing. What I really appreciated though was how quiet it gets at night – you’d think being right in the center would mean constant noise, but the courtyard-facing windows and thick walls keep things peaceful. The apartment itself feels more spacious than most Warsaw rentals I’ve tried, with actual room to spread out your stuff (there’s proper closet space, which is rarer than you’d think in these old buildings).

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward key-pickup-from-a-random-café situation you sometimes get with apartment rentals. The host clearly knows what they’re doing and has thought through the little details that make a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. I will say the bathroom could use a small update, but everything works fine and the water pressure is actually decent. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Żabka downstairs or hit up the weekend market at Plac Konstytucji. During my stay in early fall, the heating worked perfectly – important to mention since some of these older Warsaw buildings can be hit or miss with temperature control. If you’re coming in summer, the high ceilings and cross-ventilation keep things comfortable without needing AC. For the price point and that 9.2 rating, it really delivers on feeling like you have a proper home base in one of Warsaw’s most walkable neighborhoods.
