Overview
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Apartament Mariensztat when I first booked it – honestly, the name’s a bit of a mouthful and I’d never heard of this particular corner of Śródmieście. But walking down Boczna street for the first time, I actually got pretty excited. This little pocket of Warsaw has this almost village-y feel that’s completely different from the bustling main drags just a few blocks away. The apartment itself sits in what locals call the Mariensztat district, which is basically this reconstructed historic area that somehow manages to feel both old-world charming and surprisingly practical. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the Royal Castle and Old Town Square, but without all the tourist chaos right outside your window.
The apartment building has that solid, post-war Polish architecture thing going on – nothing fancy, but you get the sense it’ll outlast us all. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no hovering desk clerk trying to upsell you on breakfast), and the unit itself? Well, it’s exactly what you’d want from a 3-star place that clearly knows its audience. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, with actual comfortable furniture instead of those weird hotel chairs that look nice but hurt your back. I spent most evenings on the couch with takeout from the Vietnamese place around the corner – there’s this whole little international food scene tucked into the surrounding streets that you’d never find unless you were staying somewhere like this. The kitchen’s properly equipped too, which honestly saved me a fortune since Warsaw restaurant prices can add up fast, especially in the touristy zones.
What really won me over was the neighborhood rhythm you pick up on after a few days. Mornings are quiet except for the occasional delivery truck rumbling over the cobblestones, but by evening there’s this gentle buzz from the wine bar two streets over and families heading to the little playground near the Vistula. The river’s maybe a five-minute walk if you cut through the right alley – and trust me, those evening walks along the water became my favorite part of each day. Sure, the WiFi occasionally hiccupped during video calls (though it’s generally solid), and the shower pressure could be better, but these feel like minor quibbles when you’re paying reasonable rates to live like a temporary local in one of Warsaw’s most characterful districts. I’d definitely come back, actually – there’s something addictive about having your own little corner of the city rather than just passing through it.
To book a hotel in Warsaw during major European summits, travelers need early planning as this political capital draws visitors eager to experience its reconstructed old town and modern business districts.

Exceptional
Everything was perfect, great location, clean and cosy flat with lovely balcony, helpful owner, coffee machine
What could be improved: Check in at 16:00, but owner allowed us to leave the luggage.
Amazing!
The apartment is situated in an amazing location, 7 minutes away from the reconstructed historical downtown, with a perfect view on the St. Anne Academic Church. highly recommend for those wishing to stay in this area. Clean rooms, slightly outdated furniture and low beds, but doable and convenient! Bathrooms and kitchen quite modern!
