Hotel Description

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Apartament Pańska 61 when I first booked it – I mean, it’s technically a 3-star place and the name sounds pretty corporate. But honestly, this little gem in Wola completely surprised me. The building itself is one of those classic Warsaw structures that somehow survived everything the city’s been through, and there’s something really satisfying about staying somewhere with actual character instead of another glass box hotel. The apartment I got was way more spacious than the photos suggested – actually felt like someone’s real home rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen was properly equipped too, which saved me a fortune since eating out in Warsaw every night adds up fast. I loved that I could grab fresh bread from the little bakery just down Pańska Street in the morning and actually make myself a decent breakfast.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Warsaw rather than just visiting it. Wola isn’t the touristy center, but that’s exactly why it works – you’re surrounded by actual Varsovians going about their daily lives, and the whole area has this authentic neighborhood vibe that I found way more interesting than staying near the Old Town crowds. The tram connections are fantastic (there’s a stop literally two minutes away), and you can get to the central station or downtown in maybe fifteen minutes. What really sold me on the area was discovering this amazing milk bar called Bar Mleczny just around the corner – proper Polish comfort food for basically nothing, and I’m pretty sure I was the only tourist who ever wandered in there. The apartment building itself is surprisingly quiet considering you’re right in the city, though I did notice some street noise in the early morning when the delivery trucks start making their rounds around 6 AM.

The whole experience felt refreshingly low-key – check-in was smooth, the wifi actually worked properly (you’d be surprised how many places mess this up), and the apartment had all those little touches that make you realize someone actually thought about what travelers need. I mean, there were proper hangers in the closet, decent lighting for reading, and even a few local guidebooks left behind by previous guests. The bathroom was modern and clean, though the shower pressure was just okay – not terrible, but not amazing either. What impressed me most was how the place managed to feel both comfortable and authentically Warsaw at the same time. By the end of my stay, I was chatting with the lady who runs the corner shop, had figured out the best route to avoid the morning commuter rush, and genuinely felt like I’d gotten a taste of what living in this part of the city would actually be like. For the price point and that 8.7 rating, it absolutely delivers – just don’t expect luxury amenities, because that’s not what this place is about.

    Very old TV .

  • Clean, well-equipped place near train station – Kamilla from Finland – January 18, 2025 (9/10)

Clean, fully equipped place on 10 mins walk away from the central railway station. Elevator played music that kids enjoyed a lot. Also a baby bed available.

What could be improved: The bedroom wall was quite thin so we could hear the neighbours talking when we tried to sleep.

  • Vague instructions caused much frustration. – Nicholas from United Kingdom – October 18, 2024 (8/10)

Excellent location for walking into the old town square. It's a nice easy, flat walk, takes about half an hour at a stroll. There are several shops and food places nearby; we recommend Dodo Pizza, delicious and you can watch them make your pizza. Better than watching the TV which  we couldn't get to work!

While it's in a busy traffic area, we couldn't really hear any noise when inside. You don't really hear the neighbours either, and the lifts to the 10th floor are clean and fast.

On the negative side, there is no microwave, no toaster and no hairdryer*. And the oven was too dirty to use. We consider these basics, and one of the reasons why we choose an apartment stay over a hotel. So we were disappointed. Also, the bedroom and bathroom were hot without having the heating on. A summer stay would be unbearable as there is no air con, no fan and the road noise would restrict opening the windows.
(* To be fair these are Not mentioned in their booking.com advert, and we failed to read the facilities page before booking, so this was our fault).

Despite our disappointment, we probably would stay here again in Autumn. The location is great, the flat is comfortable, and once you've spent an hour working out the car parking you will definitely remember where it is next visit!

What could be improved: We were asked for a check in time on three separate occasions, twice by text, and a phone call on the morning. Each time we said 4pm. We were told we would receive the door code once the cleaner had finished.
We did not received the door code.
At 4pm we sent them a message, then again at ten past four, and then phoned them at 4.20pm. The code finally arrived at 4.30pm. And then the fun really began!!

While you wait for the code you have to park in a pay car park, try working that out when you don't read Polish. You use the door code to get into the main door, which looks like the entrance to an office block. Once you work out the key box and get the keys to the flat door, you then have find the remote, and go back to your car.

The directions to the car park make no sense, just a street name and a couple of numbers. You enter a one-way system and after driving in circles a few times, you finally spot a tiny sign with the correct number and a teeny, tiny arrow. You pull in to find two entrances, neither have number signs, and neither door opens with the remote. After speaking to (I use this term loosely, as he doesn't speak English and I don't speak Polish!) the lovely security guard he finally points you in the right direction.

Once you find the car park (phew!!), it is scarily tight to maneover in. And you have to go DOWN to the correct floor, not up. It would have saved us stress if we were clearly told this to start with. The parking space is small. We have a medium sized car and we had to park, then climb out of passenger side, roll the car forward to empty the boot, then push the car back tight to the rear wall to avoid the possibly of being hit.
But the fun does not stop there!

Now loaded down with several heavy bags, you have to walk back up the three slopes to the main floor (we couldn't find a lift), exit the building, which turns out is not the building you are staying in.

  • Wonderful – Ineta from Lithuania – August 6, 2025 (9/10)

The place has great location in the city. Apartment was nice for short stay.

What could be improved: The shower was very small. Fat person would not be able to shower at all. Parking was not very easy to find at it was in another building.

  • Perfect apartment but check-in instructions should be communicated in advance – Aizhan from Germany – March 15, 2025 (7/10)

The apartment had everything I needed and perfect for my transit state.

What could be improved: I received my check-in information after 6.30, even though they promised to share it by 4pm (usual check-in time) and I had informed them that I would have limited mobile connection. I was so stressed to find out after my arrival at the airport that there was no information, so i had to wait at the airport with wifi for the instructions to come. This was the only downside, if not this, i would give it 10 stars.

  • Ok for short stay – Ridana from Lithuania – April 30, 2025 (7/10)

    Good location. Coffee.

What could be improved: Old soviet type of building however the apartment is renovated. Something bad with smell. Parking is under other building so you need to go outside.
