Overview
You know what, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Warsaw’s Old Town area, and MI HAPPY II actually surprised me in the best way. The location on Piwna Street is honestly perfect if you want to be right in the thick of things without dealing with the absolute chaos of the main square. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Castle Square, but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not hearing tour groups at 7 AM (trust me, that matters). The building itself has this cool old Warsaw vibe – you can tell it’s been around, but they’ve done the apartments up nicely without making everything feel sterile and hotel-chain generic.
The apartment I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for the price point. Look, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble countertops or anything, but everything actually worked properly – which honestly can’t be said for every place in this part of the city. The kitchen was small but functional (I made coffee every morning and managed a few simple meals), and the bathroom was clean with decent water pressure. What I really appreciated was how quiet it was at night, even though you’re basically in the heart of Śródmieście. The windows are pretty good at blocking out street noise, though you’ll still hear some activity from the restaurants below if you’re a super light sleeper.
Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place – the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about where to grab groceries, they didn’t just point me to the touristy spots but told me about the little Żabka around the corner and mentioned which restaurants nearby were worth it versus which ones were tourist traps. Getting around from here is ridiculously easy too – Plac Zamkowy metro station is right there, and honestly, most of what you want to see in Warsaw is walkable from Piwna Street anyway. I spent one afternoon just wandering through the narrow streets around there, and it felt like discovering little pockets of the city that most visitors rush past. The whole area smells like coffee and fresh bread in the mornings from all the cafes, and there’s something really satisfying about stepping out your door and immediately being part of that daily rhythm. Sure, it gets busy during peak tourist season (avoid July if you can), but even then, there’s enough authentic local life happening that it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in some kind of theme park version of Warsaw.

Perfect location, beautiful apartment. Highly recommend.
Beautiful apartment- well adorned as pictured. Perfect location we could walk to everything from the apartment. Quiet, very clean apartment and doors separate all rooms. Beautiful court yard view and area for seating in the courtyard. Coffee was provided and salt and pepper. Excellent value. 24 hour grocery store 1-2 minute walk. No broken furniture as written in other reviews.
What could be improved: Loved the property. Great communication with owners.if I had to try to find a suggestion it would be to have a toaster- but the microwave may have had that function without my knowledge.
Exceptional Stay with Prime Location and Local Charm!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment and were particularly impressed with its excellent location, offering convenient access to the main road and the historic old town. The comfortable bed, great views, and proximity to an excellent restaurant serving authentic local cuisine added to the overall enjoyment of our experience.
What could be improved: We encountered an issue with the vents during our stay, as an unpleasant odor emerged one day. However, we appreciated that it was promptly addressed and resolved by the following day.
