Overview

You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first booked Apartamenty-MI Old Town Residence – I mean, a 3-star place with an 8.9 rating in the heart of Warsaw’s old town seemed almost too good to be true. But walking up to 27/29 Świętojańska, I immediately got why this place works so well. The building has that classic Warsaw character (you can tell it’s been lovingly restored), and you’re literally steps from the Royal Castle – like, you can see the castle walls from some of the windows. The location is actually insane when you think about it; I’d walk out in the morning and grab coffee from this tiny place around the corner, then be at the main square before most tourists even figured out where they were staying.

The apartments themselves feel more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, which honestly was exactly what I needed after bouncing between sterile chain hotels. Each unit is different – mine had these gorgeous high ceilings and original hardwood floors that creaked just enough to feel authentic but not enough to be annoying. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped (I actually cooked a few meals, something I rarely do when traveling), and the WiFi was solid throughout. I’ll be real with you though – the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs. It’s not terrible, but you might hear your neighbors chatting or the occasional footsteps above. The trade-off is worth it because you’re sleeping in the actual heart of Śródmieście, where most hotels would cost twice as much.

What really sold me on this place was how the staff – well, I guess property managers is more accurate – actually knew the neighborhood. When I mentioned wanting to find good pierogi that wasn’t touristy, they didn’t just point me to the nearest restaurant; they told me about this basement spot three blocks away where locals actually eat. And parking – God, parking in old town Warsaw is usually a nightmare, but they sorted that out too with specific instructions that actually worked. The check-in was smooth (they met me right at the building), and honestly, by day three I felt like I was just living in Warsaw rather than visiting it. The morning light coming through those big windows, the sound of people heading to work on the cobblestones below, the smell of fresh bread from the bakery next door – it all just clicked. Sure, you’re not getting room service or a concierge desk, but when you’re this close to everything that matters in Warsaw’s old town, you really don’t need it. I’d absolutely stay here again, and I’ve already recommended it to two friends planning trips to Poland.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Warsaw at least two months ahead for major events like music festivals or business conferences, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near attractions.
