You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Warsaw over the years, and this little apartment on Kilińskiego really surprised me. It’s tucked right in the heart of Śródmieście – honestly, you can’t get much more central than this without paying tourist prices. The building itself has that classic Warsaw charm (you know, the kind that survived everything this city’s been through), and while it’s definitely a 3-star setup, it punches above its weight in terms of location. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Royal Castle and maybe ten from the main square – but here’s the thing locals know: Kilińskiego is just off the main tourist drag, so you get all the benefits without the constant crowds and street performers outside your window at midnight.

The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – nothing fancy, but everything actually works, which honestly can’t be said for every place in this price range. The owners, Noclegi Renters, seem to really know what they’re doing; check-in was smooth and they were quick to respond when I had questions about the heating (pro tip: these old buildings can be a bit temperamental with temperature control, but they sorted it out fast). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Kilińskiego isn’t one of those streets where drunk tourists stumble around at 3 AM, but you’re still close enough to walk to Nowy Świat or the Old Town for dinner. The kitchen setup is basic but functional if you want to grab groceries from the Żabka down the street, though honestly, with all the restaurants within walking distance, I barely used it except for morning coffee.

Here’s what really sold me on the place though – the neighborhood vibe is just right. You’ve got actual Varsovians living around you, not just other tourists, so mornings feel authentic with people heading to work and kids going to school. The tram stops on Marszałkowska are close enough that you can easily get to Wilanów or Praga if you want to explore beyond the center, and there’s this little bakery around the corner on Świętokrzyska that does incredible pączki (definitely better than the tourist traps). Sure, the 7.6 rating might seem modest, but I think that’s just because some people expect hotel-level service – this is an apartment rental, and if you set your expectations accordingly, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The value is solid, especially if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city rather than lounging around your room. Just pack some good walking shoes because you’ll want to wander these cobblestone streets, and maybe bring a portable phone charger – you’ll be taking way more photos of the architecture than you planned.

  Greatest location for the old town, everything was just a short walk away. Kitchen is functional with dishwasher and induction stove.
  
  What could be improved: Could be cleaner. We traveled with a crawling baby, and the floor was quite dusty. The bed is an IKEA couch which has seen better times.

  The apartment is perfectly located next to the old town, the room is clean.
  
  What could be improved: 1. It is written that the apartment is on the 3d floor. In fact, it's on the 5th. And, of course, no elevator.
  2. On booking, it's stated that the apartment has toiletries. In fact, it doesn't. If you arrive on Sunday evening and don't have shower gel and shampoos, you won't take a shower since all the nearby shops are closed.
  3. The apartment is located under the roof, where lots of pigeons are residing. Be prepared to deal with them 24/7
  4. There is no proper conditioning system, and opening windows is dangerous due to pigeons. See p. 3. Besides, there are some local drunks residing in the yard. On opening windows early in the morning, you can learn all the dirty words in Polish.
  5. The staff is absolutely unwilling to communicate. When I asked some questions about toiletries and other issues, I was given a lot of messages on how to get to the apartment in 3 different languages. If something goes wrong, don't expect communication with people, only with chat bots.

  What could be improved: Bed bugs resulted in head to toe bites over my body, poor cleanliness, pigeon infestation. I was subjected to lice, mites, bed bugs and numerous other nasties. Access to apartment required 83 stairs which was not advertised. Agents were not contactable
