The building’s nothing fancy from the outside – sort of that Eastern European practical architecture thing – but inside, the space actually surprised me. It’s got this lived-in comfort that you don’t get in those sterile hotel chains, you know? The kind of place where someone clearly thought about how people actually move through a space.

What really works here is the location’s personality. Powiśle has this cool mix of young professionals and families, so during the day you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyards, but evenings get pretty mellow. The Copernicus Science Centre is basically around the corner if you’re traveling with kids (or if you’re secretly into interactive exhibits like I am), and honestly, some of the best sunset views in Warsaw are right along the river path. Summer evenings, that whole area comes alive with people jogging, walking dogs, or just sitting on the grass with takeout. Winter’s a different story – gets pretty quiet and windy off the water – but there’s something kind of romantic about having the riverfront mostly to yourself.
