You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star apartment setup in Ursus, but Apartments Chełmońskiego honestly surprised me in the best way. When I first pulled up – and yes, there’s actually decent parking which is basically a miracle in Warsaw – the building looked pretty standard from the outside. Nothing fancy, just a solid residential block that blends right in with the neighborhood. But here’s the thing about Ursus that most tourists don’t get: it’s actually become this really livable area that’s way more connected to the city center than people think.

The apartment itself was… well, it was exactly what I needed without any of the tourist trap nonsense you get closer to Old Town. Clean, functional, with that kind of IKEA-meets-Polish-practicality vibe that somehow works perfectly. The kitchen had everything I actually use (not just decoration), and honestly, after spending days eating pierogi at restaurants, being able to make my own coffee in the morning felt like luxury. The Wi-Fi was solid – I mean, I was working from there for three days and had zero issues with video calls. What really got me though was how quiet it was at night. You’re in a proper residential area where people actually live, so there’s none of that weekend party chaos you deal with in Śródmieście. I could hear some tram sounds in the distance, but it was more soothing than annoying – sort of like Warsaw’s version of white noise.

The location is where this place really shines, though you have to know what you’re doing. Sure, you’re not walking to the Royal Castle, but the Ursus metro station is close enough that getting downtown is actually faster than from some of those “centrally located” places that are nowhere near public transport. Plus – and this is something I only figured out on day two – there’s this whole little commercial area nearby with a proper grocery store and some surprisingly good Vietnamese food. The 9.0 rating makes total sense once you realize what you’re getting: it’s not trying to be some boutique experience, it’s just really good at being a comfortable base for exploring Warsaw without the tourist markup. I’d definitely book it again, especially if I was staying more than a couple nights and wanted to feel like I was living in the city rather than just visiting it.
