You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Apartments Warsaw Gagarina – honestly, the name sounds a bit corporate and sterile – but this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away on Gagarina street in Mokotów, which I’ll admit isn’t the most exciting neighborhood if you’re looking for nightlife, but that’s sort of the point. The area has this residential, lived-in feel that makes you understand how actual Varsovians live, not just the tourist bubble around the Old Town. Plus, you’re maybe fifteen minutes by tram to the city center, and there’s something satisfying about taking the same route locals use for their daily commute. The building itself feels solid – none of that flimsy construction you sometimes get with newer apartment hotels – and I mean, it’s named after Gagarin, so there’s this subtle Soviet-era gravitas that somehow works.

The apartments themselves are what really won me over though. Mine had this lived-in quality without being worn down, if that makes sense – like someone’s well-maintained second home rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen actually functions (I made coffee every morning and even attempted some pierogi from the nearby Żabka), and the bathroom had decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in Warsaw. What I appreciated most was the little details – proper hangers in the closet, enough outlets near the bed, windows that actually open for fresh air. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, which matters when you’re trying to navigate Uber or look up restaurant reviews. I stayed during a particularly warm week in June, and while there’s no AC, the cross-breeze situation was surprisingly effective once I figured out which windows to open.

The neighborhood grows on you – there’s this excellent milk bar called Bar Mleczny Prasowy about a ten-minute walk away where you can get authentic Polish comfort food for basically nothing, and the Galeria Mokotów shopping center is close enough if you need something practical but far enough that you don’t feel like you’re staying in a mall. Parking was straightforward (they have spots available, though you need to arrange it ahead), and the check-in process was refreshingly human – actual people who seemed to care about whether you found everything okay. I mean, it’s not luxury by any stretch, and the décor won’t win design awards, but there’s something honest about the place that I found more appealing than fancier hotels I’ve stayed at in Warsaw. The 8.5 rating makes complete sense – it’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without trying to oversell itself, which in my experience is pretty rare in the apartment hotel game.

  The best! Stylish well-designed apartment, clean, view of the great park – which runs into the city. About 30 min through the heart of the city with the frequent 180 bus! A great pizzeria and a small supermarket in the same building. Wonderful! – and the interior design is great. Comfortable sleeping sofa! – Great for jogging!

  What could be improved: There is renovation jobs on nearby streets and it is difficult to reach location if you are not aware of it (unfortunately we were not advised, and it was difficult to find how to drive there. When we asked hosts for advice, they replied that they don’t know…) Taxi in most cases refuse to go there because of closed for traffic streets. Also there was very unusual misunderstanding re price. We paid with card (issued in US in USD – always pay everywhere/ no problem) but amount deducted was almost 50 USD higher comparing to mentioned in application during booking – when we asked, no positive reply was received (hosts replied that they are not aware and probably it is because of currency conversion… strange for us, as it never happened before/ after).

  Great, fresh apartment, well equipped kitchen. Personal parking spot in closed backyard. NIce park really few steps away. If not the works outside and hot summer days, I would rate this stay for 10.
  
  What could be improved: Aircon only in living room, in hot summer might be super hot in bedroom. Super noisy from construction outside, it may end soon, but it was quite annoying. Communication with renters was bellow average, you know this feeling when you talk to robots, this is the case, if something happens, dont think it will resolve quickly. Bit overpriced from my POV.

  What could be improved: I chose the apartments based on 3 criteria: quality, location and car parking. There was a gate key in the room, but it did not work. As a result, I had to look for a place in the nearest courtyards for a week. They promised to repair the key but never did.
