I mean, when I first heard the name, I was honestly expecting something pretty basic – maybe decent but nothing special. Boy, was I wrong.

The design element in the name actually means something here. Walking in, there’s this really thoughtful mix of industrial touches and warm details that doesn’t feel forced or try-hard. The exposed brick accent wall works perfectly with these soft, oversized cushions, and whoever chose the lighting knew what they were doing – it’s bright enough to actually read by (thank god), but creates this cozy vibe in the evenings. The kitchen setup is legit too, not one of those tiny hotel kitchenettes where you can barely fit a coffee mug. I actually ended up cooking a few meals because the space made it feel natural, plus there’s proper counter space and – this might sound weird but it matters – really good knives that aren’t completely dull.

What really sells this place though is how quiet it stays, even when things get busy in the area. The windows must be really well-insulated because I barely heard street noise, which honestly surprised me given how central everything feels. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward waiting around while they hunt for your reservation. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood well, not just the tourist spots everyone mentions. They pointed me toward this little coffee place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and it became my morning routine. The whole vibe is sort of like staying in a friend’s really well-designed apartment rather than a hotel room, if that makes sense. You get that homey feeling without sacrificing any of the conveniences you want when you’re traveling. That 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s the kind of place where all the small details add up to something that just works really well.
