You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first pulled up to this place on Jana Olbrachta street – it’s one of those modern apartment buildings that could go either way, if you know what I mean. But the City Break P&O turned out to be exactly what I needed for my Warsaw stay. The Wola district isn’t the touristy Old Town everyone talks about, which actually worked in my favor. You’re basically living like a local here, and I mean that in the best way possible. There’s this great little bakery just around the corner where the staff doesn’t speak much English but the pastries are incredible, and you can walk to the Rondo Daszyńskiego metro station in about eight minutes (I timed it because I’m weird like that). The apartments themselves are properly spacious – not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re bumping into furniture every five seconds. Mine had this little kitchenette that actually functioned, unlike some places where they give you a hot plate and call it cooking facilities.

What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re still pretty central. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional tram rumbling by, but it’s more of a gentle city hum than anything disruptive. The building’s got good soundproofing, honestly. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward waiting around in a tiny lobby while they sort out your reservation. The staff member who showed me around spoke excellent English and actually gave me useful tips about the neighborhood, like which grocery store stays open late (Żabka on the next street over) and where to catch the bus to Chopin Airport without dealing with the metro transfers. I’ll be honest, the furnishing isn’t going to win any design awards – it’s that practical IKEA-ish style you see everywhere – but everything worked properly and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The shower had proper water pressure, which you can never take for granted in older European buildings.

The location really grew on me during my four-day stay. Sure, it takes about twenty minutes to get to the main tourist spots, but Wola has its own character that most visitors completely miss. There’s this fantastic food hall called Hala Koszyki about fifteen minutes away where locals actually eat, not just tourists taking Instagram photos. Plus, you’re close enough to the business district that there are decent restaurants around without the Old Town markup. Parking was included, which saved me a fortune – and trust me, trying to park anywhere near central Warsaw is basically a nightmare. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevator’s a bit slow, but honestly, that’s me being picky. For the price point and the space you get, this place delivers exactly what it promises. It’s not fancy, but it’s genuine and comfortable, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually experience a city rather than just tick off the tourist boxes.

Early hotels booking in Warsaw requires advance planning during peak cultural seasons when visitors flock to see the city’s remarkable reconstruction story and vibrant arts scene.

  What could be improved: CITY BREAK P&O DID NOT RETURN THE 500PLZ DEPOSIT. P&O SAYS HAS RETURNED THE DEPOSIT TO US. WE LEFT THE APARTMENT CLEANED AND WITHOUT DAMAGE

  What could be improved: Not suitable for small children because of the stairs. Bedrooms are not soundproof and you can hear everyone downstairs.
  Impossible to open or close window upstairs as there is no way of accessing it.
  Sofa bed was broken and was never fixed as advised. Bathroom door knob was broken and as a result my husband was locked it (luckily I was in the prosper at the time). Shower drain was blocked. Washing machine wasn’t secured properly and was almost falling out of the drawers during spinning cycle.

  Для нас було дуже зручне розташування! Поряд великий торговий центр Воля-парк та метро! Коли на вулиці стало значно прохолодніше-ввімкнули опалення!
  
  What could be improved: Був брудний посуд -все перемивали! Було відчинено вікно на 2 рівні, яке було дуже незручно закривати(неможливо дістатися-високо),а було вже достатньо холодно! Бажано додати ролети на вікно 2 рівня!

  What could be improved: Bardzo brudno, Ogródek zarośnięty chwastami, za kanapa zdziwiły mnie rozsypane chipsy, łazienka do czystych też nie należy. Łóżko czymś zachlapane, okna brudne. Nie czułam się komfortowo pod tym względem.
