Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Day & Night by Cooee when I first walked up to the building on Krucza Street – the name sounds a bit gimmicky, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos. You’re right in Śródmieście, which means you can walk to basically everything that matters in Warsaw. I mean, the Palace of Culture is like a 10-minute stroll, and there’s this great little milk bar called Bar Mleczny Familijny just around the corner that serves pierogi that’ll ruin you for the frozen stuff forever. The apartment setup works really well too – it’s not just a hotel room with a mini-fridge, but actual apartments with proper kitchens and living spaces. I ended up cooking a few meals there because, well, eating out every night in Warsaw adds up, and honestly the kitchen had everything I needed (even a decent coffee maker, which is rarer than you’d think).

What really sold me on this place was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. Krucza Street has some traffic during the day, but by evening it’s surprisingly peaceful – I actually had to check my phone the first night because I couldn’t believe how well the windows blocked out the city noise. The staff knows their stuff too, and I don’t just mean the usual tourist recommendations. When I mentioned wanting to find some good vintage shops, the guy at reception pointed me toward Hala Koszyki and this little area near Plac Zbawiciela that I never would’ve found on my own. The apartments themselves feel more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel – there’s actual personality in the design, not that generic modern hotel look that makes every city feel the same. I stayed in one of the larger units and the living room had these big windows that let in tons of light during the day, plus the bathroom was surprisingly spacious (and had one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works properly).

The only minor thing I’d mention is that the building’s entrance is a bit understated – I walked past it twice the first day because it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street. But honestly, that’s part of what I ended up liking about it. You feel more like a temporary local than a tourist, especially when you’re grabbing coffee from the café downstairs in the morning or picking up groceries from the Żabka on the corner. The 9.1 rating makes total sense to me – it’s one of those places that just gets the details right without trying too hard to impress you. If you’re the type who likes having your own space but wants to be walking distance from everything Warsaw has to offer, this is definitely worth booking. Just don’t expect a traditional hotel experience – this is better.
