Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Solec 61 – the building looks pretty unassuming from the street, sort of tucked between the typical Warsaw mix of restored pre-war architecture and communist-era blocks. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t scream for attention. Domus Carmeli sits right in Powiśle, which is actually this perfect sweet spot between the tourist chaos of Old Town and the hipster energy of Praga. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Vistula riverbank where locals jog and walk their dogs, and there’s this little path that takes you right up to the Royal Castle area without dealing with the main tourist drags. The apartments themselves are what I’d call “chic” in the real sense – not trying too hard, but everything’s been thought through. Clean lines, decent kitchenettes (the coffee maker actually works well), and these big windows that let in tons of light during those short Warsaw winter days.
What really sold me on this place was how it feels like you’re staying in an actual neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district. There’s a small grocery store literally around the corner on Tamka street where the older Polish ladies shop – you’ll hear them chatting in the mornings when you open your windows. The tram stop is maybe two minutes away, and honestly, Warsaw’s public transport is way better than people give it credit for. I took the 22 tram to get pretty much everywhere, including that massive Palace of Culture (which, controversial opinion, I actually think looks kind of cool at sunset). The area gets pleasantly quiet at night too – none of the party noise you’d get if you stayed closer to Nowy Świat, but you’re still close enough to walk to dinner in Śródmieście when you want to. Parking was surprisingly manageable for Warsaw standards, though I’d still recommend the tram for getting around the city center.
The staff runs a pretty smooth operation here – check-in was quick, they speak solid English, and they actually gave me useful recommendations rather than just pointing to the usual tourist spots. One person mentioned this little wine bar called Cuda na Kiju that I never would’ve found otherwise, tucked away in some basement near the university area. The apartments stay clean throughout your stay, and the Wi-Fi is strong enough for video calls (tested it extensively during a work trip). I guess my only minor gripe would be that the shower pressure could be stronger, but that’s pretty typical for older buildings in this part of the city. For a 3-star place, they’re definitely punching above their weight – I’ve stayed in pricier hotels in Warsaw that felt way more generic. If you want to experience the city like someone who actually lives here rather than just hitting the main tourist checklist, this is your spot.
Warsaw hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in Poland’s capital, known for its remarkable post-war reconstruction and dynamic business environment.

Nice and convenient stay close to the city center – Denys from Ukraine – August 1, 2025 (9/10)
I had a great short stay at this apartment. It is quite unusual but welcoming, quiet and convenient.
The connection with the city center (and, by extension, other areas of Warsaw) is good. The apartment is really well furnished and decorated, it feels cozy and suitable there. Communication with the host is seamless. I received self-check-in instructions timely and fully. Getting in and out of the apartment was easy.
All the amenities were in place.
I would definitely recommend it for a short/mid-term stay.
What could be improved: Everything about my stay was great.
Mini fridge would have been helpful, though its' absence is not an issue at all.Exceptional – Maria from Poland – June 21, 2025 (10/10)
Our stay at the apartment was simply perfect. We initially chose it mainly for its convenient location near the PGE Stadium, so we didn’t have high expectations—but it turned out to be a real gem.
The building’s exterior has a unique, almost historic charm—resembling part of an ancient church—but once inside, it's modern, stylish, and beautifully renovated. There’s even a lovely inner courtyard garden, perfect for enjoying a quiet morning coffee.
The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and a spacious layout. The large, secure indoor parking was also a big plus.
A special thank you to the online support team—they were always available, responsive, helpful, and polite. Their exceptional service made a big difference, especially when they generously allowed us a late checkout free of charge after the concert.
I’d be more than happy to stay here again!Wonderful – Katherine from United Kingdom – May 22, 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful rooms very peaceful place. Good parking which I didn’t use but would be useful if needed.
What could be improved: I didnt realise there was not a manned reception but had instant replies always via the messaging on booking and Eliza and team were extremely helpful.Fantastic – Catherine from Belgium – May 14, 2025 (10/10)
The location is outstanding, with the city center just a short distance away and The Tide conference center, Vistula river beaches, and bars all within a 3-minute walk. The rooms are pleasant, clean, and quiet, offering a secure and comfortable stay. The presence of a lift adds convenience. The support from Eliza, the manager of Domus Carmeli, was exceptional and highly professional. On our departure day, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel and enjoy a late checkout, which was incredibly convenient. We will certainly return and would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eliza for her kindness.
What could be improved: The curtains are not blackout, which may lead to early wake-ups for light sleepers as soon as the sun rises. Additionally, there is a lack of a small shelf or cabinet in the bathroom to store toiletries.Exceptional – Inga from Lithuania – April 26, 2025 (10/10)
Hotel is very nice, personal is amazing.
Brilliant – Steven from United Kingdom – April 12, 2025 (10/10)
The room was clean, lovely decor and warm. Great location too. Eliza was especially helpful and provided us with great hospitality. If we ever come back to Warsaw, we will definitely stay here thanks to how good Eliza was!
