I mean, you’ve got these gorgeous high ceilings and original architectural details, but then everything works the way it should – the wifi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, the shower has proper water pressure, and the beds are legitimately comfortable (not just Instagram-pretty). What really got me was how they handled the lighting – lots of warm, layered options instead of those harsh overhead fluorescents that make you feel like you’re in an office building. The windows are substantial too, so you get good natural light during the day without feeling like you’re living in a fishbowl.

The location is where this place really shines, though most people probably don’t realize it until they’re actually staying there. Garbarska Street itself is pretty quiet – you can actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which I always appreciate – but you’re genuinely close to everything that matters. I’d find myself stumbling onto little cafes and shops that clearly cater more to locals than tourists, which gave the whole experience this authentic neighborhood feel. The area has this lived-in quality where you see the same faces at the corner bakery and people know each other’s dogs by name. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving (street parking fills up fast, especially on weekends), but honestly, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need a car much anyway.
