Hit Apartments Bed & Breakfast

Warsaw, Poland
8.3 Excellent

Overview

You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first booked Hit Apartments B&B – the name sounds kind of random, and Praga Północ isn’t exactly where most tourists end up staying. But honestly, that turned out to be exactly why I loved it. This place sits on Kłopotowskiego street (yeah, try pronouncing that after a few Polish beers), which is this quiet residential area that feels completely removed from the tourist chaos around Old Town. The building itself has that classic Warsaw apartment block vibe – nothing fancy from the outside, but once you’re inside, it’s actually really well done. The owners clearly put thought into making it feel homey rather than hotel-sterile, and I mean that in the best way possible.

What really won me over was how the breakfast setup worked – they’ve got this communal area where you actually sit with other travelers, and the hosts (this lovely Polish couple) will chat with you about what’s worth seeing. They pointed me toward this amazing pierogi place just two tram stops away that I never would’ve found otherwise. Speaking of trams, the 26 line is literally a five-minute walk away, and it’ll get you to the center in about fifteen minutes. Way easier than dealing with Old Town traffic, honestly. The rooms themselves are pretty spacious for European standards – I had enough room to actually unpack my suitcase completely, which doesn’t always happen. The bed was solid (firm but not rock-hard), and the shower had proper water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled around Eastern Europe much, you know that’s not always a given.

I’ll be real with you though – this isn’t a place where you’re going to get 24/7 room service or a concierge in a fancy uniform. It’s more like staying at your Polish friend’s really nice apartment, if that makes sense. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, so if you’re looking to stumble home from bars at 3 AM, you might want something closer to Nowy Świat. But if you want to experience Warsaw more like a local and less like a tourist – and save some money while you’re at it – this place totally delivers. The whole Praga district is having this moment right now anyway, with cool galleries and cafes popping up everywhere. I ended up spending way more time just wandering around the neighborhood than I expected, and that 8.3 rating honestly feels about right. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s the kind of place you’d actually recommend to friends without any weird caveats.
