Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Hotel Arkadia Royal on Czecha street – it’s tucked away in Wawer, which most tourists completely skip over, but you know what? That turned out to be exactly why I ended up loving this place. It’s about a 20-minute ride from the Old Town (longer during rush hour, obviously), but here’s the thing – you’re staying in an actual Warsaw neighborhood where people live and work, not some touristy bubble. The hotel itself is this solid three-star property that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and I mean that in the best way possible. When I walked into the lobby, it had that clean, no-nonsense vibe – not fancy, but everything felt well-maintained and genuinely welcoming. The staff actually seemed happy to see guests, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is sometimes.

The rooms are what you’d expect for a three-star, but they’re done thoughtfully – decent-sized beds, reliable wifi (I was working remotely so this mattered), and the kind of quiet you just can’t get in the city center. I slept better here than I did at pricier places closer to the main sights, honestly. What really won me over though was how the hotel sits in this residential area where you can walk to actual grocery stores and cafes that locals use. There’s this little pierogi place about five minutes away that I never would have found if I’d stayed downtown – the kind of spot where the menu’s only in Polish and everything costs half what you’d pay near the Royal Castle. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Warsaw will tell you is basically a miracle. The breakfast wasn’t anything revolutionary, but it was fresh and filling, and they had proper coffee, not that weird instant stuff some budget places try to pass off.

I’ll be honest – if you’re the type who needs to stumble out of your hotel directly onto the main tourist drag, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to experience Warsaw more like someone who actually lives here, while still having easy access to everything (the public transport connections are solid), then Arkadia Royal hits this sweet spot between authentic and comfortable. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Plus, and this might sound weird, but there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like it exists for practical reasons, not just to extract money from tourists. When I checked out, I actually found myself thinking I’d stay here again, which is pretty much the highest compliment I can give a hotel.

  The staff were very friendly, the location is great, near the bus station. The spa was nice, just you could feel too much chlorine and our eyes were burning from it, otherwise it was great. The breakfast was really good and so was the dinner (we had there once).

  The breakfast was very good, one of the best i’ve ever had. The spa centre was also great, except that the steam room didn’t work. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend for short stay.

  The price-quality ratio is very good. I really liked the simplicity of the hotel.
  
  What could be improved: The sauna only took a while to warm up, but it didn't cause any inconvenience. It's just a pity that it was dark in one of the saunas.
