Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Indigo Warsaw Nowy Świat? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet side street – Smolna – but you’re literally a two-minute walk from all the action on Nowy Świat boulevard. I mean, I’ve stayed at places that claim to be “centrally located” and then you’re schlepping fifteen minutes just to find decent coffee, but here you step out the front door and boom – you’re practically at Café Bristol if you want to people-watch, or you can duck into one of those little milk bars for proper Polish comfort food. The location is honestly brilliant because Smolna itself is peaceful enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM (been there, not fun), but the Royal Route is right there when you want it.

The hotel itself has this sort of boutique vibe that feels deliberately Polish without being kitschy about it – they’ve got these local art pieces and design elements that actually reference Warsaw’s history, which I appreciated. My room was on the fourth floor facing the courtyard, and honestly, it was dead quiet at night. The bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole, and they’ve got blackout curtains that actually work (you’d be surprised how many places mess this up). What really impressed me was the bathroom – proper water pressure in the shower and it got hot fast, plus there’s this rainfall showerhead that made morning routines feel less rushed. The air conditioning worked well too, which was clutch during my July visit when Warsaw was having one of those sticky heat waves.

Check-in was smooth – the front desk staff spoke excellent English and actually gave me useful recommendations, not just the standard tourist traps. They suggested this wine bar called Cuda na Kiju that’s maybe a five-minute walk away, and it ended up being one of my favorite discoveries. The breakfast situation is solid without being overwhelming – good coffee (important!), fresh bread, local cheeses, and they do this scrambled egg thing that’s creamy in the best way. I’ll be honest, the breakfast room gets pretty busy around 8:30-9 AM, so if you’re not a morning person, either get there early or wait until after 10. One tiny thing – the elevators are a bit slow, but it’s an older building so that’s kind of expected. Parking is available but it’s paid, and honestly, you don’t need a car anyway since the metro station at Nowy Świat-Uniwersytet is right there. The whole Śródmieście district is perfect for walking, and you can easily hit the Old Town, the Palace of Culture, or even wander down to the Vistula riverfront. For a 4-star place with a 9.1 rating, it absolutely delivers – it’s the kind of hotel where everything just works without any drama, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to explore a city.

Reviews

  • Exceptional – Beatriz from Italy – August 13, 2025 (10/10)

Great view of the city, the staff is just WONDERFUL, extremely kind and professional – allowed us to check-in early, which made the experience even more pleasant. The bed was simply one of the best hotel beds I've ever slept on, it was hard to wake up in the morning because it's so comfy.

Location is just perfect: close to public transportation, bars, restaurants.

What could be improved: The only issue (which is soooo small) is that the room is somewhat chilly. But really, it's such a small detail and the hotel is great overall.

Very nice hotel, excellent location. We were there for guns n roses concert at the pge, 30 min walk. Was welcomed with complementary fruit bowl and water. Everything we needed was there, iron , hairdryer and bath robes. I would definitely stay there again

What could be improved: Little bit noisy but that's expected cos where we were

  • My favourite hotel in Warsaw – Martijn from Netherlands – July 10, 2025 (9/10)

    What could be improved: –

  • Wonderful – Dorit from Israel – July 9, 2025 (9/10)

clean comfortable room, excellent shower, very nice front desk staff

What could be improved: no breakfast included

  • Wonderful – Roxanne from United Arab Emirates – June 11, 2025 (9/10)

Nice and clean modern hotel. Friendly staff. Room was spacious and location was really good

What could be improved: Sofa bed is a bit narrow (we used it for our kids so it was fine but if used for 2 adults maybe too small). Parking is expensive even with hotel discount

  • Great modern hotel – Waseem from United Kingdom – June 1, 2025 (10/10)

    Location, helpful staff

  • Beautiful Hotel with Great Comfort — Just Wishing for More Dining Options – Georgi from Bulgaria – May 21, 2025 (10/10)

Hotel Indigo Warsaw strikes a perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort. The location is ideal for exploring the city, and the building's beautifully preserved architecture adds a unique character.

Rooms are stylish, quiet, and cozy, with well-designed common areas that feel welcoming. The hotel is also pet-friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

Breakfast is a standout — freshly prepared and served at the table, offering a calm and high-quality start to the day.

A great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable, unique, and centrally located stay in Warsaw.

What could be improved: The only downside was the limited lunch and dinner options at the hotel. Expanding the menu would make the overall experience even better.
