You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I booked this place in Kabaty – honestly, I’d never even heard of this part of Warsaw before. But this apartment on Gąsek street turned out to be one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The moment you walk in, you realize this isn’t your typical cramped city rental. We’re talking 130 square meters of actual breathing room, which in Warsaw is practically unheard of at this price point. The owner clearly lives here sometimes (or at least cares about it like they do) because everything just works – the coffee machine isn’t some ancient relic, the shower has proper water pressure, and there are actually enough towels for everyone.

What really sold me on this place was the location, though it took me a day to fully appreciate it. Kabaty sits right on the edge of Kabaty Forest, which I mean… having a massive green space literally at your doorstep in a city of nearly two million people? That’s pretty incredible. Morning runs became this whole ritual – you can be on forest trails within five minutes of leaving the apartment. The Ursynów district itself is this interesting mix of communist-era blocks and newer developments, but Gąsek street feels tucked away from all that urban chaos. It’s quiet enough that you’ll actually hear birds in the morning (something I definitely wasn’t expecting in Warsaw), but you’re not stranded out in the suburbs either. The Kabaty metro station is close enough for easy city center access, though honestly, after a few days I found myself preferring to stay local and explore the forest paths and nearby cafes.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a rental – there’s personality in the furniture choices and enough kitchen equipment to actually cook proper meals if you want to skip restaurants for a night. Storage space is generous, which sounds boring but trust me, after living out of a suitcase in tiny European hotel rooms, having closets and drawers matters. The building is one of those newer constructions that doesn’t creak and groan all night, and parking was never an issue (which anyone who’s driven in central Warsaw will tell you is basically a miracle). I’d definitely book this place again, especially if I wanted that perfect balance of being in Warsaw but not feeling overwhelmed by it. Sometimes you find these spots that just get everything right without trying too hard, and this apartment is exactly that.
