I’ll be honest – when I first heard about staying in an apartment directly across from the Palace of Culture and Science, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I mean, that Soviet-era skyscraper can be pretty polarizing, you know? But walking into Lumina completely changed my perspective on the whole area.

The thing about this place is that it actually uses its location as an advantage rather than just tolerating it. You wake up to this incredible view of Warsaw’s most iconic (and yes, controversial) landmark, and honestly, there’s something pretty spectacular about having your morning coffee while staring at that imposing structure. The apartment itself feels refreshingly modern – clean lines, really thoughtful lighting that justifies the “Lumina” name, and everything works exactly as it should. I particularly loved how quiet it was despite being right in the city center. The windows must be seriously well-insulated because you don’t get the usual urban noise that comes with prime downtown locations like this.

What really sold me, though, was how perfectly positioned you are for exploring Warsaw. The Palace houses multiple museums, theaters, and that observation deck everyone talks about – literally a two-minute walk. But beyond the obvious tourist stuff, you’re also right where locals actually spend time. There’s this great little milk bar (bar mleczny) just around the corner that serves incredible pierogi for practically nothing, and the main shopping areas along Marszałkowska are basically on your doorstep. The metro entrance is close enough that you don’t even think about it, which matters when you’re dealing with Warsaw’s sometimes unpredictable weather.

I stayed during a pretty busy conference season – the Palace hosts tons of events – and parking was definitely something to think about ahead of time, but the building’s management actually had some solid recommendations for nearby spots. Check-in was smooth, very professional but not stuffy. The apartment had all those little touches that make you realize someone actually thought about what travelers need: proper hangers, decent WiFi throughout, a kitchen that’s actually usable if you want to grab groceries from the Żabka downstairs. You know what surprised me most? How much I ended up appreciating that view I was initially skeptical about. That 9.2 rating makes total sense when you experience the whole package – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well.

  Excellent apartment in the center of Warsaw. Spacious living room. The beds were made, which is very nice from the road. I had problems with my back, but the bed was very comfortable. A separate plus for this.

  Patiko vieta. Žinoma, iki upės paeiti tikrai reikėjo, bet bendrai kelių dienų apsistojomui vieta gera. Prie vieno įdomesnių Varšuvos traukos centrų. Namuose švaru, parkingas patogus ir privatus, tiesiai po langais.

  Super lokalizacja jeśli chodzi o zwiedzanie, mała odległość do przystanków komunikacji miejskiej. W pobliżu sklepów i restauracji (Złote tarasy), żabka, piekarnia. Spokojna okolica, brak hałasów z zewnątrz, dobrze wyposażone mieszkanie.
