I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of five-star places that phone it in, but there’s something different happening here.

The design studios concept is really clever, actually. Instead of cookie-cutter rooms, each space feels like you’re crashing at a talented architect friend’s place – if that friend happened to have impeccable taste and a serious budget. The lighting alone (fitting, given the name) creates this warm, lived-in atmosphere that shifts throughout the day. Morning coffee feels different when you’re sipping it in a space that actually considers how natural light moves across the room. The furniture isn’t just pretty to look at; it’s the kind of stuff you find yourself running your hands along because the textures are so satisfying.

What really sold me, though, were the little things that show someone was actually thinking about how people live in these spaces. The bathroom mirror has this perfect lighting setup – no harsh shadows when you’re getting ready. There’s enough counter space that you’re not playing Tetris with your toiletries. The shower pressure is exactly what you hope for after a long day wandering around. Even the check-in process felt refreshingly human; the staff seemed to genuinely know the property and could tell you which rooms get the best sunset views or when the neighboring area tends to quiet down for the evening. That 8.0 rating makes sense when you experience the whole package – it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without needing to shout about it. Sure, it might not be the cheapest option in the area, but honestly? Sometimes you just want to stay somewhere that feels like they sweated the details so you don’t have to.
