Overview

You know what? The Marszałkowska White & Black Apartment is one of those places that grows on you. I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the building on Marszałkowska Street, I wasn’t blown away by the exterior, but once you’re inside, it’s actually pretty solid for what you’re paying. The black and white theme isn’t just a clever name either – they really committed to it throughout the space, which I found kind of charming in a minimalist way. The apartment setup means you get more room to spread out than your typical hotel, and honestly, after a long day wandering around Śródmieście, having a proper living area to decompress in was exactly what I needed.

Location-wise, you’re right in the thick of things without being in the absolute chaos of the Old Town tourist crowds. Marszałkowska is this major artery that cuts through central Warsaw, so you’ve got trams running regularly (which locals will tell you is the best way to get around anyway), and you’re walking distance to both the Palace of Culture – love it or hate it, you can’t miss it – and some really decent restaurants that aren’t just serving pierogi to tourists. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the pierogi around here are good too, but there’s this whole food scene happening in Śródmieście that a lot of visitors miss. The street can get a bit noisy during rush hour since it’s such a main thoroughfare, but by evening it settles down considerably.

What I appreciated most was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile – the kind of apartment where you can actually picture yourself staying for a week or two. The kitchen setup is practical enough that you could grab groceries from the Żabka down the street (there’s always a Żabka down the street in Warsaw) and make breakfast instead of hunting for café options every morning. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that awkward hovering around a lobby situation. Sure, it’s a 3-star place with a 7.3 rating, so you’re not getting luxury touches, but the fundamentals are solid – good wifi, decent water pressure, and the heating actually works properly, which honestly matters more than fancy toiletries when you’re dealing with Warsaw winters. The whole experience felt authentic in a way that bigger chain hotels in the area sometimes don’t – like you’re getting a genuine slice of how people actually live in this part of the city rather than some sanitized tourist version of it.

you get your money’s worth

good positioning, pretty modern

What could be improved: we arrived at 16:00 which was the check in hour mentioned after being told that no early check-in can be made for us. everything was a mess, pillows and blankets on the floor, dirty bathroom, a sign that the apartment wasn’t cleaned after the previous visitors. at 16:30 the cleaning lady came and mentioned something about an email that we shoud’ve received saying that the apartment wasn t ready =))). of course there was no email, probably she must’ve overslept as she was kinda dizzy. Anyways we checked in at 18:00 after she was done with the cleaning. When it was time to leave we asked for a checkout at 12:00 instead of 11:00 as a way to pay us for the 2h lost at the check-in and to help us as our train wouldn’t leave until 15:00. The answer was no because, and I cite, “We have to make sure the next guests have the apartment ready before check-in”, then why wasn’t mine ready before check-in?

Poza tym wszystko ok.

What could be improved: Drzwi wejściowe jak do schronu. Takie zimne, nieprzyjemne.
Nie ma to wpływu na przebywanie wewnątrz.
