You know what caught me off guard about Mennica Central Apartments? The name honestly doesn’t do it justice – I was expecting some sterile business hotel, but this place actually has character. It’s one of those 4-star spots that feels more like staying in a really well-appointed local apartment than a typical hotel, which makes sense given the name, I guess.

The location is what really sold me on this place. I mean, you’re right in the heart of everything without dealing with the tourist trap nonsense that usually comes with being “central.” The street itself has this nice mix of locals grabbing coffee and visitors figuring out their next move, so you get that authentic city vibe without feeling like you’re completely out of your element. Walking around in the evenings, there’s this perfect amount of activity – busy enough that you feel safe and connected to the city, but not so chaotic that you can’t actually relax when you get back to your room.

What impressed me most was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between hotel service and apartment-style independence. The rooms (well, they’re really more like small apartments) give you space to actually spread out and live a little. You’ve got proper kitchen facilities if you want to grab groceries from the local markets – and honestly, after a few days of restaurant meals, being able to make simple breakfast or late-night snacks was such a relief. The furnishings feel current without being trendy in that way that’ll look dated in two years, and everything actually works properly. I’ve stayed in enough places where the coffee maker is broken or the wifi cuts out every hour, so these details matter more than you’d think. The 8.6 rating makes complete sense once you’re there – it’s not flashy enough to be a 9, but there’s really nothing to complain about either. Check-in was smooth, the staff knew the neighborhood well enough to give actual recommendations (not just the standard tourist spots), and housekeeping managed to be thorough without moving all your stuff around. Sometimes the elevators get a bit slow during busy periods, but that’s pretty much my only gripe, and it’s hardly a deal-breaker.

  The location was just amazing. So easy to walk anywhere. We took the public transportation a lot as well. Around the apartment, there are places to eat as well.
