Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to the Mercure Warszawa Ursus Station – I mean, anything with “station” in the name usually makes you think of that slightly gritty, industrial vibe. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible.

The location is sort of genius when you think about it. Sure, Ursus isn’t exactly the historic heart of Warsaw, but that’s actually what makes it work. You’re connected to everything via the train station (literally right there), which means you can zip into the city center in about fifteen minutes, but when you come back at night, it’s refreshingly quiet. No drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM, no trams clanking past your window every ten minutes. The neighborhood has this authentic, lived-in feel – there’s a decent grocery store nearby, and I spotted locals walking their dogs in the evening, which always feels like a good sign to me.

The hotel itself feels properly modern without being sterile, if that makes sense. Check-in was smooth – the staff actually seemed to know what they were doing, and the lobby has this warm lighting that doesn’t make you look like you’ve been traveling for twelve hours (even when you have). My room was on the fourth floor, and honestly, the soundproofing impressed me. You’d think being near a train station would mean constant noise, but I barely heard anything. The bed was one of those firm-but-not-too-firm situations that actually let me sleep through the night, and the shower – well, let’s just say the water pressure didn’t disappoint. Small thing, but when you’re dealing with European hotels, you learn to appreciate a proper shower.

What really got me was the breakfast setup. I mean, it’s not going to change your life or anything, but they had actual local stuff mixed in with the usual continental spread – some Polish pastries I hadn’t tried before, and the coffee was strong enough to get you moving without being bitter. The dining area gets decent natural light in the morning, and there’s something satisfying about watching the early commuters heading to the station while you’re sitting there with your second cup of coffee, in no particular hurry.

Parking was straightforward (and free, which feels like a minor miracle these days), and if you’re planning to explore beyond Warsaw, you’re well-positioned for day trips. The staff mentioned that summer gets busier with families, but even then, the place has enough space that it doesn’t feel crowded. I stayed in late September, and the whole experience felt relaxed – like staying at a well-run business hotel that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Look, this isn’t one of those boutique places where every detail is Instagram-perfect, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. It’s reliable, comfortable, and smart about what it offers. If you’re looking for a solid base in Warsaw without the old town premium prices, and you don’t mind being a short train ride from the action, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Warsaw at least two months ahead for major events like music festivals or business conferences, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near attractions.

I booked a stay at Mercure Warszawa Ursus Station for my partner, and she had a wonderful experience for the second time! The staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing her to check in early, which she really appreciated after a long journey. She loved how friendly and welcoming everyone was, and her room was modern, cozy, and perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The location is ideal, which made getting around Warsaw super easy for her. She had a fantastic stay, and we’ll definitely be returning for future visits!

Stayed here for Taylor Swifts the Eras Tour. Extremely pleasant experience! Very nice hotel with lovely staff. Price/quality-wise an amazing choice. Stayed here for two nights and could have definitely stayed a couple more. Location is a bit far away from the city center but ubers/taxi's are available. Also, once you figured out how public transport works, it is also fairly easy to take public transportation to the city centre. Nice bar in the hotel lobby.

  • Veronique from South Africa (9/10)

Large room, with kitchenette. Very neat and modern. Located close to train station, making traveling to city center easy. Convenience store and restaurant in close vicinity.

  • Katarzyna from Poland (9/10)

Very comfortable room: big enough, with kitchen corner, TVm Wi-Fi and comfortable beds. I stayed there only for one night after the concert but I really took a rest. Check out time at 12 p.m. is very helpful during the weekend.
