You know what caught me off guard about MiaApart Old Town on Piwna? It’s actually tucked away in this quiet corner where you’d never expect to find such a solid place to stay. I mean, when you think Old Town accommodations, you usually brace yourself for either tourist traps or places that are charming but, well, sort of falling apart. This one’s different though – it’s got that sweet spot thing going where it feels authentically local but doesn’t make you suffer for it.

The building itself has this understated vibe that I really appreciated. Nothing flashy, just clean lines and that kind of renovated-but-not-overdone aesthetic. What struck me most was how quiet it stays, even though you’re literally in the heart of everything. I think it’s because Piwna street doesn’t get the same foot traffic as some of the main drags – locals seem to know it as more of a residential pocket. The apartments themselves are honestly better equipped than I expected from a 3-star place. The kitchenettes actually work (I made coffee every morning without wanting to throw anything), and there’s proper counter space, which… if you’ve stayed in Old Town before, you know how rare that is. The Wi-Fi’s solid too, which matters if you’re trying to get any work done or just want to video call home without pixelated faces.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place – the staff actually knows the neighborhood. Not just the obvious tourist spots, but like, which bakery opens earliest (there’s one around the corner that has incredible rogale at 6 AM), where to grab groceries without paying tourist prices, that sort of local intel. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward key-passing-in-a-café situation you sometimes get with apartment rentals. I stayed there during what I’d guess was shoulder season – October – and it felt like I had stumbled onto something that locals use when their relatives visit, rather than just another booking.com listing. The whole experience just felt… honest, I guess? Like they’re not trying to be something they’re not, but what they are works really well. That 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s the kind of place you’d actually recommend to friends without any caveats.

  The apartment is in an excellent location, so close to everything. It’s on the 3rd floor without an elevator so a bit challenging with suitcases, however totally doable. It’s was very quiet inside the apartment with all the windows open, could not hear the neighbors or the street noise. The apartment is perfect for a couple, however for 3 or more people it’s a bit cozy.

  The location was fantastic, a few steps from the central square of the old town. The owners were great communicators, secure car parking close by and it is possible to park on the street in old town if you're lucky. There's a shop within a few steps selling fresh bread and donuts etc, everything you might need is there. Across the road, a busy Pizza house and not much further for all varieties of restaurants. Loved our stay!
