Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first heard the name “Mieszkanko koło Zamku” (basically “Little Place by the Castle”), I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it sounds almost too quaint, you know? But walking up to this 3-star spot, you immediately get why they chose that name. The castle looms right there, and I’m talking close enough that you can actually hear the tour groups during the day, though it quiets down beautifully in the evenings when the golden hour light hits those old stones.
The thing about this place is that it feels like someone’s grandmother decided to rent out her best rooms – and I mean that in the absolute best way. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’re inside, because while it’s not fancy-schmancy, everything just works perfectly. The floors have that satisfying creak of old wood that’s been well-maintained, and the windows (they’re these charming older ones that you actually have to unlatch) frame the castle views like they were designed by an artist. I spent way too much time just sitting by the window with my morning coffee, watching the early joggers and dog walkers before the tourist crowds arrived.
What really won me over was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The shower had proper water pressure – thank god, because you know how hit-or-miss that can be in older European buildings. There’s this little kitchenette area that’s stocked with actual useful stuff, not just the bare minimum. And here’s something you don’t often get: the bed was positioned so you could lie there and still see the castle lit up at night. Pure genius, honestly. The owner clearly knows this neighborhood inside and out because there were these handwritten notes about which bakery opens earliest (crucial information) and when the castle grounds are least crowded. Street parking can be a bit of a hunt during peak season – I learned that the hard way – but there are spots if you’re willing to walk a few minutes, and the area feels completely safe even late at night. You’ll hear church bells marking the hours, which sounds romantic until 6 AM, but somehow even that becomes charming after a day or two. It’s one of those places where the imperfections become part of the charm, and honestly, I’ve stayed in five-star hotels that left me with fewer fond memories than this little gem by the castle.
Hotels near me in Warsaw offer convenient access to the city center, where guests can easily walk to Royal Castle, Market Square, and vibrant cultural venues.

I LOVED THIS PLACE! The perfect apartment in the perfect location. A small park was the view from the balcony and the Old Town minutes away. I stayed for a week and felt like a local. Warsaw is divine.

Kind, communicative hosts. Let me know if check in was available sooner which was appreciated.
Provided sachets of shampoo, (helpful and a rarity from the many apartments I've stayed at whilst in Poland) hand soap, good bedding and towels.
Good blackout curtains, again not readily come across in Poland so I was grateful for these.
also privacy curtains that allowed light in but gave privacy too.
Traditionally styled room with a homely feel.
So glad to have had a microwave really makes your stay easier.
Great expansive view of the calm park with balcony looking onto greenery.
Located at the main square just off the main street that serves all touristic needs.
Can either reach through gradual sloped stairs or descent the staircase, walk down the road pavement and cut through the park.
Was only a night but seemed a quiet residential building.Clare from United Kingdom (10/10)
Fantastic traditional Polish apartment in a super location. Great facilities and everything was good quality. Perfect for a couple, single traveller or close friends, small but perfectly formed! The balcony was a massive plus to enjoy a coffee in the sunshine looking over the park.
