Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first saw the name “Modern Apartment Across the Ponds,” I wasn’t sure what to expect – but it actually makes perfect sense once you’re there. The place sits in Włochy, which I’ll admit isn’t exactly the tourist heart of Warsaw, but that’s sort of the point. You’re getting a real slice of how locals live, and the Ponds (Stawy Gocławskie) are genuinely lovely if you don’t mind a short walk. The apartment itself is clean and functional – think IKEA meets Eastern European practicality. The kitchen actually works (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in vacation rentals), and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re camping in someone’s closet. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters more than I care to admit, and the heating keeps things cozy during those brutal Warsaw winters.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Cietrzewia street isn’t exactly a party zone, so you’ll actually sleep. The building itself feels secure, though the entrance is a bit… well, let’s call it “charmingly communist-era.” Don’t let that throw you off. Getting into the city center takes about 30 minutes on public transport, and honestly, that’s not bad considering you’re paying way less than you would for something in Śródmieście. There’s a decent grocery store within walking distance (Biedronka, if you’re curious), and I stumbled across this little pierogi place that locals clearly love – always a good sign. The check-in was straightforward, though you’ll want to coordinate timing since it’s not like a hotel with 24-hour reception.
The 7.5 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises. I mean, for a 3-star place in this part of Warsaw, you’re getting solid value. The shower has good water pressure (seriously underrated), and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night. My only real complaint is that the walls are a bit thin – I could hear my neighbors’ TV sometimes, but nothing that would keep you awake unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper. If you’re the type who needs to be in the thick of Old Town action, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a clean, affordable base for exploring Warsaw without the tourist markup, and you don’t mind feeling like you’re actually staying in a neighborhood rather than a postcard, this place works. Plus, those ponds really are nice for a morning walk – there’s something peaceful about starting your day there before diving into the city chaos.

Reviews
A pleasant place to stay for an extended period of time, with some caveats. – Daniel from United States – August 10, 2023 (8/10)
I stayed at this property for an extended time (3 weeks) and was generally very happy with my stay. The apartment is located on the top floor of a newer built building and felt exclusive and secure. Multiple family members visited the apartment, and everyone said it was beautiful. The decor is clean and contemporary, and the apartment feels high end with incredible ceiling heights. The bathroom was beautiful, and the shower had multiple nozzles and I was even able to fit under the rain shower even though I'm 6'4". The kitchen is nice for Polish standards, and utensils and pots/pans are included, as are a toaster and tea kettle. The balcony was lovely and provided great sunset views. The daily breakfast alternated between sweet (yogurt with granola and preserves, and a croissant) and salty (Bread, cold cuts, cheese, small salad). Both came with fruit juice. It was a nice bonus to have every day. The check-in/check-out was seamless, and the host responded quickly to inquiries. The lake is also a beautiful place to walk around and was across the street. Based on the price I paid, I felt I got a great deal that met almost all of my needs. There are some considerations to take into account, but if I had to do it again, I would stay here.
What could be improved: I realized the building is next to a church, but did not realize the bells would ring at 6:30am several times a week. Also, the main living area is air conditioned, but the bedroom is not. As others have mentioned, there are no blinds in the main living area, so direct sun shines through and makes sitting at the table useless for many hours every day. The bedroom blinds allow light in so if you planned on sleeping in late it will make it impossible. There is also a washing machine, but no dryer (there is a drying rack provided). There was quite a bit of dust on the bookshelves. The walls are thin and I could hear normal conversations in the next door unit, as well as every time someone locked/unlocked their door. Finally, the key to the trash did not work.Very Good – Aksana from Belarus – June 7, 2023 (8/10)

What could be improved: N/AFair – Dyomina from Turkey – June 3, 2023 (5/10)
What could be improved: Apartment I booked wasn't ready for us. There was no electricity once I called to support service they've told me that most probably nobody will fix it today. So they gave me another apartment which was completely unsuitable for my booking. For 4 person they gave us an apartment with only 1 sofa. I've never saw such a service in my travel experience.

Дуже сподобалася квартира. Зручна, комфортна із необхідною технікою. Власний балкон. Район розміщення спокійний і затишний, поблизу супермаркети та паркова зона.
What could be improved: Потребує заміни ручка в душову кабіну, бо об її поверхню можна пошкодити руки.
