So I stumbled across Movo II Old Town Apartments during what was honestly a pretty chaotic last-minute booking situation, and wow – sometimes these random finds turn out to be the best part of a trip. The place sits right in the heart of the old town (hence the name, obviously), and I mean *right* in it. You know that feeling when you step outside and you’re immediately surrounded by those narrow cobblestone streets and centuries-old buildings that make you feel like you’ve walked into a postcard? That’s exactly what happens here.

What really struck me about these apartments – and this is something you don’t always get with accommodation in historic areas – is how they’ve managed to keep that authentic old-world character without making you feel like you’re camping. The units themselves are surprisingly spacious, which honestly caught me off guard since most places in old town centers tend to be these tiny shoe boxes. Mine had these gorgeous exposed beams overhead and thick stone walls that kept things wonderfully cool during the day, but also meant WiFi could be a bit spotty in certain corners (just saying, if you’re planning to work remotely). The kitchenettes are actually functional too – not just those sad little setups with a mini-fridge and a prayer. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because there’s something really special about having your coffee while looking out at those medieval rooftops.

Here’s the thing though – and this is where that 9.2 rating really makes sense – it’s the location that absolutely makes this place shine. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the main square, but somehow you’re tucked away enough that you don’t get all the tourist chaos and street noise that can drive you crazy in these popular spots. I could hear church bells in the morning (which I loved, but fair warning if you’re not into that), and the evenings were surprisingly peaceful. The staff knows their stuff too – they gave me this whole rundown of which restaurants the locals actually eat at versus the tourist traps, plus some insider tips about the best times to visit the major sights without fighting crowds. Check-in was smooth, they were flexible about arrival times, and honestly the whole experience just felt… easy. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight. If you’re the type who wants to actually experience a destination rather than just pass through it, and you don’t need a fancy lobby or room service, this is exactly the kind of place that’ll make your trip memorable for all the right reasons.
