You know what? I was skeptical when I first heard about staying in an “underwall” apartment in the Old Town – I mean, it sounds a bit dungeon-like, doesn’t it? But honestly, the Movo Underwall completely changed my perspective on what these historic quarter stays can be. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to be right in the thick of things without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist drags. You’re literally steps away from all the cobblestone charm and medieval architecture, but tucked just enough off the beaten path that you won’t have groups of tourists tramping past your window at 6 AM.

The apartment itself has this wonderful lived-in feel – not like those sterile vacation rentals that feel like nobody’s ever actually cooked a meal there. The walls are thick (thank goodness, because Old Towns can get pretty rowdy on weekend nights), and there’s something really satisfying about the solid wooden doors and the way the key actually has some weight to it. I loved the little details that showed someone actually thought about how people live: decent water pressure in the shower, enough outlets for your devices, and – this might sound silly – but proper blackout capability for the bedroom. You’d be surprised how many historic places have these gorgeous old windows that let in every streetlight in a five-block radius.

What really sets this place apart is how it strikes that balance between authentic old-world character and actually being comfortable for modern travelers. The kitchen is small but functional (I managed to make breakfast every morning without wanting to pull my hair out), and the wifi was surprisingly solid even with those thick medieval walls. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be fancy or Instagram-perfect, it’s just really, really good at being exactly what it promises to be. Check-in was straightforward, though I’d recommend confirming the exact meeting point beforehand since Old Town addresses can be a bit… creative. Also, fair warning – if you’re the type who needs everything to be perfectly square and modern, this might not be your vibe. But if you want to wake up feeling like you’re actually living in the city rather than just visiting it, and you appreciate places that have genuine character without sacrificing comfort, you’ll absolutely love it here. Just pack light if you’re planning to walk everywhere – those cobblestones are murder on wheeled luggage.

  I like the room is very comfy and clean in old town. It's perfect to see the lights and Christmas markets during the holiday season from December to January. Travel to shopping area it's quite easy as well.

  The location is right near the old city centre & it was really easy for the taxi to pick up & drop me off. Its a 2 min walk to the square with the mermaid. I stayed on my own & met up with others staying nearby & it felt safe & secure to stay there & walk back at night.
