The breakfast situation is better than it has any right to be for a hotel this size. They’ve got the usual suspects, sure, but also some local stuff that changes depending on what’s in season. I was there in late spring and they had these amazing Polish pastries that I’m pretty sure came from somewhere nearby, not from some industrial kitchen. The coffee’s actually strong enough to wake you up, which – let’s be honest – isn’t always guaranteed in European hotels. Parking was straightforward, which is saying something in Warsaw, and the whole check-in process took maybe five minutes. No drama, no upselling, just here’s your key and here’s what you need to know. That 8.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does everything right without making a big show of it, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to figure out a new city.
