The moment I walked into Nowy Apartment przy Placu Szembeka, it actually felt like stepping into someone’s carefully curated home rather than another sterile rental. I mean, sure, it’s technically a 3-star place, but honestly – that 9.7 rating makes perfect sense once you’re inside.

The location is pretty brilliant if you know Warsaw at all. Plac Szembeka isn’t exactly tourist central, which is actually why I loved it. You’re in Praga Południe, and while that might sound intimidating if you’ve only heard the old stories about this district, it’s completely transformed. There’s this authentic neighborhood vibe you just can’t get near the Palace of Culture – you’ll hear Polish conversations in the morning instead of tour groups, and there’s a fantastic little bakery about two blocks away that locals queue up at around 7 AM (I may have become slightly obsessed with their rogale). The tram connections are actually better than I expected too – you can get to the Old Town in maybe 20 minutes, but you’ll want to stay in the area because there’s something genuinely relaxing about being away from all that tourist energy.

What really got me was the attention to detail in the apartment itself. The person who set this up clearly thinks like a traveler – there’s proper lighting for reading (not just one harsh overhead bulb like so many places), the kitchen actually has sharp knives and decent pans, and honestly, the shower pressure was better than my apartment back home. The Wi-Fi didn’t drop once during my week there, which, let’s be real, is becoming rarer than it should be. I stayed during late spring and the windows open nicely for cross-breeze, though you might hear some street noise in the mornings – nothing terrible, just the sounds of a neighborhood waking up. There’s parking available too, which in Warsaw is honestly like finding gold, especially in an area where you don’t need to stress about leaving your car overnight. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward standing around waiting for someone to show up with keys. One small thing though – the building entrance is a bit understated, so don’t expect some grand hotel lobby situation. But once you’re up in the apartment, everything just works the way it should. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself making coffee in the morning and thinking “yeah, I could actually live here for a while.”

  This apartment is everything you need in renting apartment in a new city, but with a good taste!
  It is not the priciest option in the area, but it is so good. Free parking near the building with a lot of free lots(there is also a paid underground parking if you need)
  Air conditioner is a savior during Warsaw heat.
  Great equipment on kitchen, two separate rooms, dining area, a lot of light from the huge windows with a great view to the church and city
  There’s password-locks to access the building and apartment so you don’t have to carry around the keys.
  Big bathroom with everything you need including washing machine and iron.
  The best part is very friendly host who always happy to help with anything you need and even constantly caring about how good your stay is.
  From now on this is our only option for the next visits in Warsaw!
