You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from the name “Old Town Colourful Apartment” – honestly sounded a bit cheesy – but this place on Bugaj street actually surprised me. It’s tucked into Śródmieście in this perfect spot where you’re close enough to all the main Warsaw action but far enough from the tourist crowds that you can actually hear yourself think. The apartment itself lives up to that “colourful” promise without being obnoxious about it – think vibrant accent walls and quirky local artwork rather than some rainbow explosion. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep the old Polish character (you can feel the history in these thick walls) while making everything feel fresh and comfortable. The kitchen’s properly equipped too, which matters if you’re like me and get tired of restaurant food after a few days.

The location is honestly what makes this place shine. Bugaj street might not ring a bell if you’re not familiar with Warsaw, but trust me – you’re a five-minute walk from the Vistula riverfront where locals actually hang out, not just the touristy castle area everyone talks about. I mean, Old Town’s great and all, but there’s something nice about being able to slip away from it when the cruise groups descend. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel with proper grocery stores (there’s a Żabka right around the corner for late-night snacks) and cafes where you’ll hear more Polish than English. Parking can be a bit of a dance – street spots are hit or miss, but the host gives you solid advice about where to look. One thing to know is that these old buildings can be a bit echoey, so if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs. Nothing terrible, just the usual sounds of people actually living their lives.

What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The check-in was smooth – none of that awkward waiting around or hunting for keys – and they’d stocked the fridge with local beer and some basics, which was a nice touch after a long travel day. The Wi-Fi actually works (not always a given in these older buildings), and there’s decent water pressure in the shower. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it feels genuine in a way that a lot of hotels don’t. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s solidly good without any major flaws, and honestly, the price point probably makes it feel even better. If you’re the type who wants to experience Warsaw like you’re staying in a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  What could be improved: I would recommend to clean spider webs. Its all over appartment, everywhere: bathroom, living room, bedroom. Doesnt look nice.

  Amazing stay in a beautiful apartment. The place is cozy and beautifully decorated with great attention to the smallest detail. Doesn’t have a/c but a fan was more than enough. Impeccably clean with fast internet and comfortable bed. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the balcony after the busy day in Warsaw. Highly recommended! Will be back again 😊

  Bardzo dobra lokalizacja, spokój i cisza, wystrój wnętrza-nowoczesność przeplatana z PRL-em. Bardzo czysto i estetycznie. Bardzo klimatyczny kominek, zainspirował nas desing salonu z aneksem. Super rozwiązanie z "kozetką" (mebel domowy) przy oknie w sypialni. Idealne miejsce nieco odosobnione gdzie można siedzieć przy oknie i rokoszować się kawką o poranku patrząc na park fontann oraz Wisłę, czy wieczorem czytając dobrą książkę przy herbatce w zimowe, jesienne wieczory przy grzejniku.
  
  What could be improved: Specyficzny zapach chyba dla podłóg parkietowych albo jakiejś wilgoci. Niemniej po chwili można było się przyzwyczaić i nie było to odczuwalne.
  W takiej cenie mógłby być jakiś pakiet TV, bo tv naziemna w apartamencie to tylko 5 programów, bez podstawowych. Oczywiście nie podróżuje się po to, aby oglądać telewizję, ale warto o tym wspomnieć, bo nieraz dzieciaki bajki lubią czy nawet jakieś tv info puścić w tle.
  Zaznaczam, że są to DROBNE mankamenty, które nie dla wszystkich są istotne, ale warto zwrócić uwagę.
