You know what hit me first about Old Town Heart III? The name actually makes sense – you’re literally in the beating center of everything, right on Old Town Square. I mean, when I say right on the square, I’m talking about opening your window and basically being able to count the tourists taking selfies with the Astronomical Clock. It’s one of those places where the location is so ridiculously perfect that you almost can’t believe it’s real.

The thing is, this isn’t some fancy boutique hotel trying to impress you with marble everything – it’s a solid 3-star spot that just happens to sit on some of the most expensive real estate in Prague. Honestly, that 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’re there. The rooms are clean and comfortable (nothing revolutionary, but you’re not here to hang out in your room anyway), and the staff actually knows the neighborhood. Like, they’ll tell you to grab coffee at the little place around the corner on Celetná Street instead of the overpriced tourist trap downstairs. The building itself has that old European charm – thick walls that keep most of the square noise out, though you’ll definitely hear the hourly chimes from the clock tower. I actually found it kind of soothing after the first night, but fair warning if you’re a super light sleeper.

What really sets this place apart is how it handles the whole “being in the absolute epicenter of tourist central” thing. Yeah, you’re surrounded by crowds during the day, but here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you – early morning and late evening, the square transforms completely. Step out at 7 AM and you’ve got this massive, almost empty medieval square to yourself, with just the street cleaners and a few locals cutting through on their way to work. The hotel staff clued me in on this, actually suggested I grab breakfast from the market hall on Havelská Street (two minutes’ walk) instead of the hotel breakfast – saved money and got way better pastries. They’re also pretty realistic about things like getting taxis (forget it during peak hours) and which direction to walk to avoid the worst crowds. It’s that kind of local insight that bumps a decent hotel into something special. Plus, and this might sound weird, but there’s something almost magical about falling asleep knowing you’re literally sleeping in the heart of a fairy tale city that’s been standing for over a thousand years.

  The host pat was unbelievable with help. The apartment is fabulous!! I am not joking. All new, all Trendy, warm, I felt like I was going home after each trip out! Net flix lured me back with a glass or two of wine and cheese and biscuits! I loved every minute of my trip. Didn't want to leave. Warsaw was a fab trip but the apartment was what made it fabulous

  very central, clean and comfortable, however be prepared in the summer there is no air conditioning, it wasn't bad as it wasn't super-hot on the days we stayed. Also be prepared there is no lift and you will need to carry bags up 3 flights of stairs, we travelled light so again not an issue for us, but if you have large suitcases it might be a struggle.
