Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Warsaw over the years, and Old Town Heart XV on Kopernika Street is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some local code. The address puts you right in Śródmieście – which sounds fancy but really just means you’re smack in the middle of everything that matters. You know what I love about this spot? You can walk to the Royal Castle in about eight minutes, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos that comes with staying right on the main square. Kopernika is this tree-lined street that feels residential enough to be quiet at night, but busy enough during the day that you’ve got cafes and little shops within stumbling distance.
The hotel itself is one of those 3-star places that punches way above its weight – I mean, a 9 rating doesn’t happen by accident. The building has that pre-war Warsaw character (well, rebuilt post-war like most of the city center, but you get the idea) with high ceilings and these gorgeous old windows that actually open properly. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out in a way that makes you realize how much space most hotels waste. What really got me was the attention to small stuff – proper blackout curtains that actually block light, decent water pressure in the shower, and outlets placed where you’d actually want to charge your phone. The breakfast room overlooks the courtyard, and there’s something really peaceful about starting your morning there before heading out to explore.
Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to fully appreciate – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Nowy Świat street, which is where Warsaw really comes alive. That’s your main artery for everything from late-night pierogi spots to those milk bars that serve proper Polish comfort food for basically nothing. The metro station at Nowy Świat-Uniwersytet is close enough that you can easily get to other parts of the city, but honestly, I found myself just walking everywhere because the Old Town, the river, and all the good neighborhoods are totally walkable from here. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving – this is central Warsaw, after all – but the hotel staff actually knows the area well enough to give you real advice, not just vague directions to some expensive garage. I stayed here during both summer tourist season and a gloomy February week, and the vibe works year-round. Summer means you can walk along the Vistula in the evening, winter means you’re close to all those cozy indoor spots that make Polish winters bearable. It’s the kind of place where you start planning your next Warsaw trip before you’ve even checked out.

Lovely 2-bed apartment in period building. Very comfortable period features with modern kitchen and cable tv. Spotlessly clean. Well located in a quiet street just off from the trendy Nowy Swiat area for restaurants and bars. Ideal base for walking tours of Warsaw ( as we did as a family ). Host Patrycja was very helpful and friendly too. Cheers!
What could be improved: All good. Perhaps elderly guests need to be aware of the three flights of stairs up to the apartment….but no problem to us.Great location and apartment has everything you need. – Dawn from Australia – October 25, 2024 (9/10)
There was plenty of space in this apartment and the beds were comfortable. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The apartment is in a great location close to restaurants and shops. For anyone gluten free, it is also very close to a fantastic gluten free bakery.
What could be improved: Although it’s not a big deal, the couch wasn’t very comfortable as the seat cushions kept falling out.convinient – Hsuan-chi from Belgium – September 27, 2024 (9/10)
