Hotel Description
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Warsaw over the years, and Old Town Heart XVI on Tamka really surprised me. I mean, it’s technically a 3-star place, but honestly it punches way above its weight class. The location is just… well, it’s perfect if you actually want to experience Warsaw rather than just see it. Tamka street runs right along the edge of the old town area, so you’re literally a five-minute walk from all the reconstructed medieval stuff tourists come for, but you’re also close enough to the real Warsaw that locals actually live in. I could walk to the Vistula riverbank in maybe three minutes – there’s this lovely path that hardly any guidebooks mention where people jog and walk their dogs in the evening.
The building itself has that pre-war character that somehow survived everything Warsaw went through, which is saying something. When I checked in, the guy at the front desk actually gave me useful tips about which tram lines to take (not just the touristy ones) and warned me that the construction on Nowy Świat was going to be noisy until about 4 PM – details like that make such a difference. The room was smaller than what you’d get in some chain hotel, sure, but everything worked properly and the bed was actually comfortable. I’m pretty picky about mattresses, and this one didn’t leave me waking up feeling like I’d been sleeping on concrete. The bathroom was renovated recently – you can tell because the tiles actually match and the shower has decent water pressure, which isn’t always a given in older Warsaw buildings.
What really sold me on this place though was just how quiet it gets at night. Tamka isn’t one of those streets where drunk tourists stumble around at 2 AM, but you’re still close enough to Krakowskie Przedmieście that you can walk to bars and restaurants without needing a taxi. I spent one evening just wandering around Powiśle (that’s the neighborhood just down the hill) and found this tiny bar that served the best pierogi I had in the entire city – the hotel staff actually knew about it when I mentioned it the next day. During the day, there’s enough street life to feel like you’re in a real neighborhood, but it’s not overwhelming. I saw the same lady walking her tiny dog every morning around 8 AM, and there’s a small grocery store about two blocks away that stays open late, which was clutch when I needed bottled water and snacks. The whole area just feels lived-in rather than preserved-for-tourists, if that makes sense. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving – street spots are hit or miss, but there’s a garage about a ten-minute walk away that’s not too expensive by Warsaw standards.
Hotels in Warsaw offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this resilient metropolis, with easy access to museums, theaters, and historical landmarks.

Very Good – Hu from Singapore – June 8, 2025 (8/10)
The property is cozy and clean, spacious and convenient, there are supermarket any money changers (good rate) just downstairs. Walking distance to old town, just 2 minutes walking distance from Chopin University and Chopin Museum . The arrangement and decoration are very nice.
The only one thing need to take note is: the property is next to a street, you can hear all activities from the street especially your sleep time.Wonderful – Marty from United States – May 11, 2025 (9/10)
lovely apartment, well appointed with a comfortable bed and couch. great shower.
Note that keypad to enter the apartment is in the door handle itself. we were not smart enough to figure this out. However, I called one of the contact numbers and they answered immediately and walked me through it.Excellent – Gemma from Ireland – September 19, 2024 (9/10)
Location was perfect for us , room was clean , very spacious apartment
A nice apartment, large, central with great interior design – Roham from Norway – June 11, 2025 (9/10)
It was clean, specious, central, nice equipment and interior design.
What could be improved: Of course in old buildings specially if historical it’s not possible to have air conditioning, but honestly it was quite warm (not to complaining, just saying).Bad – Judith from Israel – February 22, 2025 (1/10)
What could be improved: We came there in late afternoon. At the address there is no name of the place "old town heart. The owner never wrote the number of the apartment. It did not show on the mail box and it was impossible to reach them on the phone . Even the postman that came there did not know that it exist.
At the end, it was getting very late and cold we had to look for another place.
We do not recommend it to anyone !!Lo recomendaré sin duda – Isabel from Spain – June 2, 2025 (10/10)
Sehr schöne Wohnung und sehr nette Gastgeberin – Vlasta from Switzerland – May 13, 2025 (10/10)
