Old Town Ruby Apartment

Overview

You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Warsaw’s Old Town, and the Ruby Apartment on Świętojańska really surprised me in the best way. I mean, it’s technically a 3-star place, but honestly it punches above its weight – especially considering you’re literally in the heart of Śródmieście. The location is actually ridiculous (in a good way) – you can stumble out the front door and be at the Royal Castle in maybe three minutes, and the Old Town Market Square is right there too. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize about staying right on Świętojańska: it gets pretty lively on weekend evenings, especially during summer when all the outdoor cafes are buzzing. If you’re a light sleeper, just ask for a room facing the courtyard instead of the street.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel room, which I actually loved. The kitchen setup is proper useful – not just some sad mini-fridge situation – so you can actually grab groceries from the Żabka down the street or hit up the weekend farmers market near the Barbican and cook something decent. The furnishings are sort of that modern-but-cozy vibe, nothing fancy but everything works well. I particularly appreciated that they had proper blackout curtains (those summer nights in Warsaw stay bright forever) and the shower pressure was surprisingly good for an older building. One small thing though – the WiFi can get a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, but it’s fine for checking emails and maps.

What really sold me on this place was how the staff actually knew the neighborhood. When I mentioned I was looking for good pierogi that wasn’t touristy, the woman at reception immediately pointed me toward this tiny place on Freta Street that I never would’ve found otherwise. And she was right – best żurek I had the entire trip. The whole area is incredibly walkable, which means you’ll save a fortune on taxis and actually see the city properly. Plus, if you need to get to the train station or airport, the metro stop at Ratusz Arsenał is maybe a seven-minute walk. During my stay in October, the trees along the nearby streets were absolutely gorgeous, and there’s something magical about having coffee in the morning and just wandering through those cobblestone streets before the tour groups show up around 10 AM. Honestly, for the price point and that location, it’s hard to beat – just don’t expect luxury amenities, because that’s not what this place is about. It’s about being right in the middle of everything that makes Warsaw’s Old Town special.

Wonderful

It had a good amount of space and comfortable.

What could be improved: Everything was great the only complaint I can think of is that it smelled a bad because of no air circulation my fiance stood next to the windows for about 10 min , ac should help in my opinion. But over all the place was great I would not mind staying again
