You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Warsaw over the years, and Joanna’s Apartments on Rycerska really surprised me. I mean, when you first walk up to the building – it’s this gorgeous pre-war structure that somehow survived everything – you get that feeling like you’re about to step into actual Warsaw history. The entrance is tucked between what looks like residential buildings, so honestly, I walked past it twice before realizing I was there. But that’s sort of the charm, actually. You’re literally living in Old Town, not just visiting it. The apartment itself was way more spacious than I expected (Warsaw apartments can be, well, cozy), and whoever Joanna is, she clearly knows what travelers actually need. The kitchen had proper coffee – not those sad instant packets you usually get – and the bathroom had this old-fashioned tile work that felt authentic without being uncomfortably vintage, if you know what I mean.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like a local but still be walking distance from all the tourist stuff. Rycerska is this quiet little street that connects to the main square, so you can stumble home from dinner without dealing with the crowds that pack Piwna and Świętojańska during peak season. I loved that I could grab groceries at the little shop on Nowomiejska (just two minutes away) and actually cook breakfast instead of paying tourist prices every morning. The walls are thick enough that you don’t hear your neighbors – which, trust me, matters when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag and there’s a group of British guys next door who discovered Polish vodka. Parking was… well, it’s Old Town, so forget about parking right outside, but there’s a decent garage about a five-minute walk away on Miodowa that won’t completely destroy your budget.

What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The WiFi worked everywhere (including the bathroom, not that I checked or anything), there were extra blankets that didn’t smell like mothballs, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure was incredible. After walking around cobblestones all day, that matters more than you’d think. The check-in was smooth too; they met me at the apartment instead of making me trek to some random office across town. I mean, there were a couple minor things – the coffee maker is one of those finicky European ones that takes some figuring out, and the nearest ATM is a bit of a walk – but honestly, these felt like tiny inconveniences compared to how comfortable and authentic the whole experience was. If you’re the type who wants to explore Krakowskie Przedmieście in the morning, duck into milk bars for lunch, and still have a peaceful place to decompress at night, this is your spot.

  The location is incredible! Right in the heart of Warsaw Old Town. I was surprised to find the parking spot at the street relatively easy, close to the apartment.
  The host was very friendly and proactive. I received detailed and easily understandable video guide for check-in process.
  The apartment was totally ok for 4 people stay.
  
  What could be improved: The air conditioner is one-unit mobile a/c, which is hardly enough for one room, but wasn't sufficient for the second room. For our luck the night weather was not very hot, but during the summer day the a/c is not enough. If you are not travelling during summer months this a/c issue will not be a problem.

  The apartment was lovely, clean, the equipment and everything else was in really good condition not damaged and clearly really well looked after! The location is the best thing about this property, only a 2 minute walk from the main square. The communication with the host was excellent, instructions were also clear.
