Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first heard about staying in Praga Północ, I was a bit skeptical. This isn’t your typical Warsaw tourist zone, you know? But Olszowa 14 turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the guidebooks haven’t caught onto yet. The apartment sits right by the Vistula, and I mean literally – you can hear the water from the windows, which is actually pretty soothing once you get used to it. The building itself has that classic Polish brick facade that’s been nicely maintained, and honestly, the whole street feels more like a residential neighborhood than a tourist trap. You’ll find yourself walking past locals heading to work or kids playing in the small parks nearby, which gives you a much more authentic feel of how Warsaw actually lives and breathes.

The apartment itself is solid – I’d say the 4-star rating is pretty accurate, maybe even a touch conservative. The space is larger than what you’d typically get in the Old Town for the same price, and everything feels thoughtfully put together rather than just thrown in there to fill space. The kitchen actually has proper appliances (not those tiny European fridges that can barely hold a bottle of wine), and the bathroom has decent water pressure – trust me, after a day of walking around Warsaw’s cobblestones, that matters more than you’d think. What really sold me on the place was the view situation. You’re not getting castle views or anything dramatic like that, but there’s something really peaceful about watching the river in the morning with your coffee, especially when the mist comes up off the water in early autumn.

Now, here’s what you should know about the location – it’s not a five-minute walk to the Royal Castle, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride to get into the heart of the city, and the tram stop is maybe three blocks away on Targowa Street. The neighborhood has this slightly industrial, artsy vibe that’s been slowly gentrifying – there are some great little cafes popping up, and I stumbled across this fantastic pierogi place called Zapiecek just a few streets over that definitely doesn’t cater to tourists. Parking isn’t terrible if you’re driving, though you’ll want to ask the hosts about the best spots since some streets have those confusing time restrictions. The 7.9 rating seems about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s comfortable and authentic, and the hosts actually respond to messages quickly, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. If you’re the type who wants to experience Warsaw like someone who actually lives there rather than just hitting the major sights, this spot gives you that opportunity without sacrificing comfort.

  Check-in information was informative and sent on time, with no issues or questions from my side.
  It was near the park, the bus station close to the apartment, and Old Town.
  Good wifi, Speedtest showed 93/48 mb (download/upload).
  Enough space and a good mattress. The kitchen was served enough.

  Location is good, relatively close to the city center. Comfortable cozy apartment. Had a little issue with kitchen utilities, but host immediately responded and fixed the problem.

  Excellent location. Old town is just across the river, 10-15 mins walk to shopping mall and grocery store. Good size for 2 adults.
