Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be straight with you about P&O Apartments Gamerskiego – it’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what you’re getting into. The building sits right on Tylmana Gamerskiego street, which honestly sounds more intimidating than it actually is (locals just call it “that street near the Palace of Culture”). You’re basically in the heart of Śródmieście, and I mean the real center – not some tourist-brochure version of central Warsaw. The apartments themselves are solid 3-star territory, nothing fancy but definitely clean and functional. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re literally surrounded by the busiest part of the city. The windows do a decent job blocking out the tram noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional late-night reveler stumbling down the cobblestones.

The thing about staying here is that you’re walking distance from pretty much everything that matters in Warsaw, but you’re also in a spot where actual Varsovians live and work. There’s this little pierogi place about two blocks down that doesn’t have an English menu – that’s how you know you’ve found the real deal. The building itself has that post-war Polish architecture vibe, which either charms you or doesn’t, but I found it kind of endearing after a couple days. Check-in was surprisingly smooth (they actually had someone who spoke decent English, which isn’t always a given in this neighborhood), and the key situation is old-school physical keys, not those finicky card things that never work when your hands are full of shopping bags.

Honestly, the 7.5 rating makes sense when you think about it – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises. The kitchenette in my unit was actually usable, unlike some apartment hotels where they just stick a hot plate in the corner and call it a day. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because there’s a Żabka convenience store right around the corner, plus a proper grocery store (Carrefour Express) maybe a five-minute walk toward Marszałkowska street. The bathroom was small but had good water pressure, and the heating worked well – important detail if you’re visiting during Warsaw’s brutal winters. You know what really sold me on the place though? The staff genuinely seemed to care about helping you navigate the city. The woman at the front desk drew me a little map showing the quickest way to get to the Old Town without dealing with all the tourist crowds on the main drag. That’s the kind of local insight you just can’t get from a big chain hotel, and it made all the difference during my stay.

Reviews

  • Good – Judita from Lithuania – May 18, 2023 (7/10)

The apartments have a great location, easy access and are comfy, the service was great as well.

What could be improved: Some of the things in the apartment seemed old, not sure if that was bugs or not, but it gets really ichy after sitting for a couple of minutes on the couch. We also missed a towel in the kitchen.

  • Wonderful – Sally from United States – April 8, 2023 (9/10)

    location

What could be improved: hard to find it

  • Good value for money, but keep in mind the sofa is broken – Viktorija from Lithuania – June 10, 2025 (7/10)

Good location, spacious, everything you would need in the kitchen, a lot of space in public parking (free on the weekends), easy to find

What could be improved: The sofa in the living room is a bit broken, the were not enough pillow and duvet covers

  • Great Location – Stephen from Lithuania – November 23, 2024 (9/10)

location was very good, perfect for old town and new town city center, excellant location for visiting the national football stadiom, car parking was easy to find nearby

  • Pleasant – Vlastaglucinavela from Croatia – August 16, 2024 (6/10)

The location of the apartment was great, really close to the city center and lots of shops and restaurant nearby. The apartment was cosy and spacious.

What could be improved: The communication with the owner (agency) was little bit awkward. When we had problems finding the parking place (they told us that there is the ramp to enter the parking place and the remote for it, but there was no ramp at all and we were not sure where to park and what was the remote for) the answer they gave us was incomplete, like they didn't know the exact situation of the parking and they just repeated the same information they already gave us. Like they hadn't visited the place for a long time. At the end they told us that we can stay where we parked, but at the day we were leaving the neighbour told us we shouldn't park there.
About the apartment: we like how they renovated it, everything was more or less modern, but the the kitchen was missing the dish cloth, and it was not cleaned well (the doors, drain) In the bathroom there were some things that should be cleaned better (dirty tootbrush glass, drain, ). The tv was not working properly and there were just 3-4 chanells with interferences (I guess something was wrong with the anthenna). I think this price was only ok because of the location, but the apartmenr itself doesn't deserve it.

  • Very Good – Hennadii from Ukraine – January 16, 2023 (8/10)

    A lot of facilities

What could be improved: The old floor
    It wasn't a soup
    Very loud to locked door

  • Over priced old apartment. – Alberto from United States – April 28, 2023 (5/10)

    Excellent Location!

What could be improved: 722 Zlt, per night for a very old apartment…it is over priced, and not enough, you have to check in at 4pm ( never saw that before) and check out at 11 (19 hours to stay). You could stay in a nice hotel near by for cheaper. Stairs to the apartment stinks. Good luck finding thag free parking they announced on their post. Be ready to pay 500 Zlt of deposit for the property (read everything before booking). Old towels adn dirty bathroom /courtains. Wrong key lock box code, so it took some time to access the property. Definitely, I don't recommend this place if you are just with your couple.

  • Avoid at all costs – Karlis from Latvia – October 20, 2024 (3/10)

The location is close to sights and also has many cafes around.

What could be improved: Appartment had a really bad smell – like someone had died there. There is zero noise isolation and overall place is in a really bad state.

  • My booking was changed to a different apartment – Joanna from Ireland – August 16, 2024 (5/10)

I am unable to review this apartment as our booking was changed twice in days ahead of the stay, so we ended up staying in a different apartment further away from the city centre. Maybe booking directly with P&O would come with better service, unable to tell.
Overall apt we staying in was OK, location was still good but that's thanks to great public transport. Self check in was easy and came with advance payment, building itself was safe, nice and quiet.

What could be improved: Considering I had this apartment booked over a year ahead, the fact that it was changed twice within two weeks of stay was very stressful. I was busy weekend in Warsaw and P&O left me with no option but to accept any changes they threw at me. The final apartment was deemed as Luxury but as much as it was bit fancier it was not luxurious. The large front room that is also designated sleeping area came with huge balcony and no blinds while facing East.. during summer, do I need to say more? The blinds that were provided in the two bedrooms were made out of paper, not fit for the windows at all. The tap in the shower was partially broken, making it extremely hard to twist. One of the towels had a massive hole in it, and there were not enough duvet covers for both beds. All that came with a lot of uncertainty, every massage from P&O came with a certain degree of stress. Also I was asked to pay damages deposit supposedly according to their T&Cs, on checking the T&Cs on booking.com it clearly says that you will be charged in case of damages not that you have to pay in advance. I got my deposit back promptly after my stay, but still worth highlighting that it came as an unexpected expense.
Overall, there were more issues than I'd like, and therefore, I will not be booking those apartments again.

  • Fair – Sl from Heard and McDonald Islands – July 20, 2024 (5/10)

The best thing about this apartment is the location, in a great part of Warsaw but tucked away in a quiet side street where it is not too loud.

What could be improved: When I booked the apartment it advertised free parking but when we were about to arrive (and it was too late to cancel) the listing had been changed and parking was at municipal rates in the streets. Very disappointing.

The apartment itself is passable – on the surface it has everything you need but it is very plain, dark, and there was a faint musty smell like tobacco smoke. There was not enough toilet paper, no coffee or coffee machine, the TV is limited (not "smart", no streaming apps), and on the last morning the tap in the bath broke so that the water wouldn't shut off.

In short, there are no doubt much better options for the price in Warsaw. And the disappearing parking space made it a real let-down.
