Overview
You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first pulled up to P&O Apartments Marconich 1 in Wilanów – I mean, apartment-style hotels can be hit or miss, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. The building sits on Sarmacka street, which is this quiet residential stretch that feels worlds away from the tourist chaos in Old Town, even though you’re still technically in Warsaw. The whole Wilanów district has this almost suburban vibe going on, with tree-lined streets and way less traffic noise than you’d expect from a major European capital. I stayed here during late spring, and honestly, the morning walks around the neighborhood became my favorite part of the day – there’s something really peaceful about starting your morning with actual birdsong instead of honking cars.
The apartment itself was genuinely spacious, which is saying something because I’ve been burned by European “large” rooms that turn out to be closets with delusions of grandeur. The kitchen was actually functional too – not just some sad mini-fridge situation, but real counter space and appliances that work. I ended up cooking a few meals, partly because there’s a decent grocery store about a ten-minute walk away (the staff mentioned it during check-in, which was refreshingly helpful), and partly because eating out every night in Warsaw can add up fast. The whole setup reminded me more of staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel, in a good way. Sure, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards – it’s sort of that modern-but-safe style you see everywhere – but everything felt clean and well-maintained. The Wi-Fi was solid, which matters when you’re trying to figure out public transport or find decent pierogi at 10 PM.
Location-wise, here’s the thing about Wilanów that most travel guides don’t really explain properly – yes, you’re about 20 minutes from the city center by metro, but that’s actually kind of perfect. You get to experience Warsaw like locals do, taking the same morning commute, grabbing coffee at neighborhood spots where English isn’t automatically assumed. The Wilanów Palace is literally a short walk away, which is this gorgeous baroque complex that somehow doesn’t feel overrun with tour groups, probably because it’s slightly off the main tourist trail. I actually stumbled across their weekend market by accident – vendors selling everything from fresh bread to vintage Polish pottery. The metro connection is straightforward once you figure it out (though I’ll admit I got turned around the first day), and there’s decent parking if you’re brave enough to drive in Warsaw. My only real complaint? The walls are a bit thin, so if your neighbors are early risers or late-night Netflix bingers, you’ll probably know about it. But honestly, for the price point and the genuine local experience you get, I’d definitely stay here again.
Exploring Warsaw offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Poland’s resilient capital, from its meticulously reconstructed Old Town to its modern skyline and rich cultural heritage.

Mieszkanie warte swojej ceny. Polecam
Miejsce fajne, ciche osiedle na uboczu. Dla nas akurat dobra lokalizacja. Bardzo blisko do Pałacu w Wilanowie, spacer na piechotę. Niedaleko do komunikacji miejskiej. Mieszkanie przestronne, wygodne. Wszystko co potrzebne na krótki pobyt.
What could be improved: W drzwiach do łazienek nie było kluczy, a drzwi były pełne (bez okienka, czy otworów), wiec nawet nie było widać czy ktoś jest w środku. Trochę mało komfortowe to było.
