Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about P&O Apartments Rembrandta – it’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what you’re getting into. The building sits on this quiet residential street in Targówek, which honestly isn’t the Warsaw most tourists see, but that’s actually kind of refreshing. You’re not dealing with crowds of people dragging suitcases down cobblestones at 6 AM, you know? The neighborhood feels properly Polish – there’s a little grocery store around the corner where the cashier will definitely judge your Polish pronunciation (in a friendly way), and you’ll hear actual families going about their lives instead of tour groups. The apartments themselves are solid three-star territory – nothing fancy, but the kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped. I mean, you can actually cook a real meal here, not just heat up instant noodles. The Wi-Fi works without you having to stand in one specific corner of the room, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Rembrandta street doesn’t have much traffic, so you can actually sleep with the windows open in summer. The trams run pretty regularly from nearby, and honestly, once you get the hang of Warsaw’s public transport, you’re maybe 20 minutes from the Old Town anyway. The staff at check-in were helpful without being overly chatty (which I personally prefer when I’m tired from traveling), and they actually gave me useful directions instead of just pointing vaguely toward the city center. Parking is street parking, but it’s not the nightmare you’d expect – just make sure you understand the zone system or you’ll end up with a ticket. I learned that the hard way on my second day. The building itself has that Eastern European apartment block vibe, but it’s been renovated enough that everything works properly. Hot water pressure is decent, the heating actually heats, and the windows close all the way – small things that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.
Here’s the thing though – if you’re expecting hotel-style service or want to be within walking distance of all the main tourist spots, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want to experience Warsaw more like someone who actually lives here, and you don’t mind taking a tram ride to get to the castle or the river, then it’s pretty solid value. The area around Targówek is changing fast – there are some decent cafes popping up, and you’re close enough to the Vistula that you can walk down there in the evening when the weather’s nice. I’d definitely stay here again, especially for a longer trip when I want a bit more space and the ability to make my own coffee in the morning without having to get dressed and find a café first.
Hotels in Warsaw offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this resilient metropolis, with easy access to museums, theaters, and historical landmarks.
