Look, I’ll be honest with you – P&O Apartments Zgoda isn’t going to blow your mind, but it’s actually a pretty solid choice if you want to stay right in the heart of Warsaw without breaking the bank. The building sits on Zgoda street, which is this quiet little side street that somehow manages to be dead center in Śródmieście but doesn’t get the crazy foot traffic you’d expect. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Palace of Culture (you know, that massive Stalin-era tower everyone either loves or hates), and honestly, being that close to everything while still being able to sleep at night is kind of the sweet spot for Warsaw.

The apartments themselves are… well, they’re apartments. I mean that in the best way – you get actual space to spread out, a kitchenette that’s more functional than most hotel setups, and these big windows that let in tons of light during the day. The furniture’s a bit dated, sort of that generic European rental vibe, but everything works and it’s clean. What I really appreciated was the washing machine – after a week of traveling, being able to do laundry without hunting down a laundromat was honestly a game-changer. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to work or just want to stream something after walking around the Old Town all day. One thing though – the elevator is tiny and occasionally moody, so if you’re on the fourth floor with heavy bags, just mentally prepare yourself for either a workout or a wait.

The neighborhood is where this place really shines, and I think a lot of people don’t realize how perfect this location actually is. You’re close enough to walk to Nowy Świat for dinner (try Zapiecek if you haven’t – their pierogi are ridiculous), but you can also just grab groceries at the Żabka down the street and cook something simple in your apartment. The tram stops are everywhere around here, so getting to Wilanów or even out to Praga is super easy. I stayed here in October and the area felt safe walking around at night – lots of locals, not just tourists stumbling around. The only minor downside is that parking can be a nightmare if you’re driving, but honestly, you don’t need a car in this part of Warsaw anyway. Metro Centrum is close enough that you can get to the airport without any drama. For what you pay and where you are, it’s actually pretty hard to complain – just don’t expect luxury touches or someone to carry your bags up those stairs if the elevator decides to take a break.

  3. Lights in the kitchen didn't work.
  4. 1 of 4 chairs was broken and just lying on the balcony.
