You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Rydygiera 16-18 when I first booked it – honestly, the name sounds more like a government building than a hotel. But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away in Żoliborz, which is this lovely residential district that most tourists completely miss, and I mean that in a good way. The neighborhood feels authentically Warsaw without the crowds you get around the Old Town. The building itself has this understated elegance – it’s clearly been renovated recently but they kept some of the original character. Check-in was smooth, though the lobby is smaller than what you’d expect from a 4-star place. Not a bad thing, just different.

What I really loved about staying here was how it felt like I was living in an actual Warsaw neighborhood rather than tourist central. There’s this great little café called Kawiarnia Żoliborz just around the corner where locals actually hang out – you’ll hear more Polish than English, which is refreshing. The tram stop on Mickiewicza is maybe a 7-minute walk, and from there you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without dealing with the metro crowds. The rooms are well-designed, honestly better than some 5-star places I’ve stayed at in other cities. Mine faced the courtyard, so it was surprisingly quiet for being in the city – I could actually sleep with the windows open, which is rare in Warsaw. The bathroom was modern and spacious, though the shower pressure could be better (not terrible, just not amazing).

Here’s the thing about this area – it’s got character but it’s not flashy. You’re walking distance from the Vistula riverbank, which is perfect for morning runs or evening walks, and the whole Żoliborz district has this intellectual, slightly bohemian vibe that I found really appealing. There’s decent parking on the street if you’re driving, though you’ll want to download the SkyCash app for the parking meters. The hotel staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood well – they pointed me toward this fantastic pierogi place on Suzina street that I never would have found otherwise. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to experience Warsaw more like a resident than a tourist. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s solid, comfortable, and well-located if you don’t need to be right in the thick of everything.

  Have stayed here before – the apartment is well maintained and very convenient for us. The management company are easy to contact and have always sorted any issues without any fuss. Small supermarket across the road and lots of cafes & places to eat nearby. Good public transport links to get around Warsaw. Really nice sitting on the balcony in the morning to eat breakfast / drink coffee.
  
  What could be improved: Would be nice if there was a cafetière (or perhaps filter papers for the ceramic filter provided in the apartment)

  Good size apartment with all required facilities. Clear instructions on how to access – useful information and contacts for assistance.
  
  What could be improved: Some of the furnishings were sub- standard – some unstable dining table chairs with poorly fitted legs that started to collapse as soon as you sat down and curtains missing hangers so they don't shut. Curtain in the bedroom could not be drawn across the whole window – this is not great as the window faces onto the main road and is overlooked by flats in opposite building.

  Very good location, parking and very functional bathroom so there is a room to put your stuff in. Also the HVAC with the heat pump that cools well.

  What could be improved: Not clean. The surfaces were dirty and even the bed cover looked old. We booked for three people and only had covers/towels enough for two. Staff wasn't really helpful and considering our stay was for 5 days I would expect more assistance from their side when requesting towels or bed sheets.
