I mean, we’re talking about Targowek here – not exactly the tourist center everyone gravitates toward – but that’s actually what makes it interesting. It’s this properly Polish neighborhood where you’ll hear more Polish than English on the streets, and the apartment sits right in the middle of all that authentic Warsaw life.

The building itself has this solid, no-nonsense vibe that I really appreciated. Four stars might not sound glamorous, but sometimes you want a place that just works without trying too hard, you know? The apartment was genuinely spacious – and I mean actually spacious, not “European spacious” where you’re bumping into furniture. The kitchen had everything I needed (though the coffee maker took me a minute to figure out), and the beds were proper comfortable. What really got me was how quiet it was at night. Targowek doesn’t have that constant hum of tourist areas, so you actually sleep well here. The only sounds you’ll hear are occasional trams in the distance and maybe some neighbors coming home late – nothing that’ll keep you up.

Here’s the thing about staying in Targowek though – you’re going to need to plan your transport into the city center. It’s not a quick walk to the Old Town or anything like that, but honestly? The tram connections are solid once you figure them out, and there’s something refreshing about coming back to a real neighborhood after spending the day dodging selfie sticks around the Royal Castle. There are proper grocery stores nearby (not just tourist shops), and this little bakery about two blocks away that does incredible szarlotka – the kind of place where the woman behind the counter will remember your order after two visits. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. It’s clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and sits in a part of Warsaw where you’ll get a feel for how the city actually lives and breathes.
