Here’s the thing about staying in Targowek though – you’re going to need to plan your transport into the city center. It’s not a quick walk to the Old Town or anything like that, but honestly? The tram connections are solid once you figure them out, and there’s something refreshing about coming back to a real neighborhood after spending the day dodging selfie sticks around the Royal Castle. There are proper grocery stores nearby (not just tourist shops), and this little bakery about two blocks away that does incredible szarlotka – the kind of place where the woman behind the counter will remember your order after two visits. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. It’s clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and sits in a part of Warsaw where you’ll get a feel for how the city actually lives and breathes.
