Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “ShortStayPoland Pohulanka,” I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds pretty corporate, you know? But actually staying there completely changed my mind, and that 9.3 rating suddenly made perfect sense.

The thing about this place is that it gets the fundamentals so right that you barely notice all the little touches until you’re settling in for the night. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that overly formal hotel theater, just efficient and friendly. The staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well, which I mean, sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. When I asked about getting to the old town, the guy at reception didn’t just point vaguely – he mentioned specific tram stops and even warned me about the construction on one of the main streets that week.

The rooms themselves feel more like a really well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel room. Everything’s clean and modern without being sterile, if that makes sense. The bed was honestly one of those “why can’t my bed at home be this comfortable” situations, and the shower had proper water pressure – something you don’t fully appreciate until you’ve dealt with those sad dribbles at other places. What really got me though was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. Plenty of outlets near the bed (and they’re not hidden behind furniture like some sadistic puzzle), blackout curtains that actually block light, and the WiFi was fast enough that I could video call home without any awkward freezing moments.

The Pohulanka area itself is sort of this sweet spot that a lot of travelers miss – you’re close enough to everything important but away from the tourist chaos. There’s this great little bakery about two blocks away that locals line up at every morning, and honestly, stumbling onto that felt like finding hidden treasure. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where people are actually going about their daily lives, not just posing for Instagram photos. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate a European city center with a rental car, you’ll know is basically a miracle.

I stayed there during what must have been a busy weekend, and the place never felt chaotic or overcrowded. The common areas stayed clean, noise levels were totally reasonable (you could hear people in the hallway but it wasn’t disruptive), and there was always hot water when I needed it. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight class. You know what really sealed it for me though? On my last morning, I realized I’d left my phone charger plugged in at a café the day before, and the front desk just handed me one to borrow without making it into this big production.

It’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, which sounds simple but is actually pretty remarkable. You’ll sleep well, you’ll have what you need, and you’ll probably find yourself telling other people about it later – which, let’s be real, is the best test of whether a place is actually worth it.

  Бронювала відпочинок на 4 ночі. Апартаменти хороші: чисті, просторі, затишні. Поруч є магазини, хороша транспортна розвʼязка. В квартирі дуже хороше й швидке опалення, яке можна регулювати.
  Для мене були залишені дві колбочки із шампунем, мило, чай та кава, рушники.
